Im not worried about rattles.  The convertibles are pretty loud with the soft top.  You can hear everything

Posted (edited)

My truck started the squeak/rattle thing at around 2k miles. They had 8 opportunities to fix that (while it was in for pulsating brakes ...), and never could.

I've got used to it over the past 10 years. Pretty sad that I have to drive my 32, or 25 year old cars to get a quiet ride ...

Squeaks and rattles -  a 21st Century thing I guess!

Well thank you, My fear is after I pass on, someone who is going take a hatchet to it. That and where can I take without the risk of someone who just wants to damage something will take a key to the paint ?

I went to see what they would give me for my 2013 Camaro on a trade and they only would offer $21k.  So getting $25k was great for me.

Dealers are real cut throats when it comes to trade in.  As Soon as they start talking about the price of the 'New' vehicle, they always call out the flaws and actually get down to the " Sales Agreement" , Ask to see the  of the "New Vehicle " They never will let you see it.  And for what it's worth, and say he's going have the sales manger go over it with you, Get up and just leave. The more they talk, the more confusing it gets. Your always better off selling it on your own.

What’s wierd is when I traded my Tahoe for this car they gave me exactly what I was trying to sell it for. For the Camaro They kept saying how nice it was then insult me with a lowball price

Kind of had the same thing when we went to buy a 17 gmc acadia.   We agreed on the new car price then they low balled me on my trade in.  So I asked if they would take a low ball price on the new one.   Real quick No answer.   It was already an hour past closing time(7pm on a friday).  The salesman and manager were the only ones left there.    So I told them my price and said agree or we walk and it was a waste of there time.   They quickly agreed and we picked it up the next morning.

When I bought my '07, the dealer wanted to give me $2,000 for my '94 K1500 with 266k on the clock. Had NO rust - was in real nice shape for it's age at the time. Previous owner fixed all the rust and painted it, and I replaced the bumpers, grille, and headlight & tail lamp assemblies. Thing looked like a 3 year old vehicle. Salesman even told me it was nice, "But this is all I can give you."

I still bought the truck, but I sold the old one on Craigslist a month later for $4,500. It pays to be patient! :)

I hear you there, James. After I took my Silverado home from the showroom, I instantly missed my old beaters. Now I had to worry about where I parked it, where I drove it, and how clean it was all the time. :D
