Apparently I suck at this.  Fog lights didn't come on unless switched on and turned off with brights. I also need a new diode. I bent the hell out of mine pushing it in.

Welcome to the party. I still  haven't been able to install mine yet. Gave up. How many extra diodes do you have?

A big fat zero. I thought I was getting multiple from Amazon but they sent one. Heading to the hardware store tomorrow to see if they have one.

Got mine done today looks great. Did the fogs with high beams and cargo with reverse. Thanks to all who contributed to make this a breeze.

On the fog light mod I pulled the plug out to make it a bit easier to push diode in. First corner bent the diode a bit. I straightened it back out then tried next corner and it went in smooth. Then I tested a the corners on the high beam wire. Once I figured out which corners were good it went in no problem.

Yeah. I’ll have to do that. I thought I had the diode in. I’m trying to get my fogs on at all times. I just need to double check which slots I’m putting it into...................... on the plug.

I did the same thing. On Amazon there are like 20 people selling packs of multiples and I order the single 1 for the same price from one seller. He was laughing his ass off I bet when he got my money. Either way paid the same for the pack of 50 or more

I took one of my smaller phillips jewelers screwdrivers to make a path for the diodes, or even one of the small common-tip jewelers to help manipulate the diode's way into place.

My diode mods, from picture above. 1N4004 diode mods (strip toward second pin/wire):

GRY1 to GRY8 - Puddle lights on with all interior lights

BRN26 to PNK26 - Cargo lights on with Reverse (reverse the diode for R lights on with Cargo)

BRN18 to BRN22 - Fogs on with High Beams (Silverado's Lows stay on with Highs)

There are others for Park/Low on all the time, Fogs on with Lows, Fogs always on, etc. Believe the entire list is in "$50 and under modifications" thread, could also be in this thread somewhere.

Had to find a recent list. I did mine by putting the stripe end in first, and a fine tip jewelers screwdriver before the diode, to make a easier path for the lead. BRN18 to BRN22 (stripe end). Push the lead we’ll into each pin, at least 1/4”.

Thanks, brother.  I appreciate the help.  I'll have to unclip it and go at it tomorrow or Thursday, then.

Yeah, that was another thing that I had to do, to make it a little easier, unclip it.

Corrected my entry above, had wrong pins.

Looking through the schematics, looks like you'll have to jump BRN10-BRN22.

10-22 worked like a champ on my ‘15 Silverado. I also have 20 more diodes to pay forward. I got 25 but keeping a few for myself.

PM me for the diodes.

    • The "source" a woman, that writes the article is not a far right person. She's pretty well known "car person". She writes her own stuff, but yes it is initially posted under the Blaze, because they purchased the right to post it first, before it is posted on her own sites. It doesn't mean the info is any less valid. the article itself is not political It's not meant to discount any current actions in the Iran   Only posted the link because that's what has to be done to be legal to post the article. The Blaze is not a site I use. Lauren Fix's page pointed me there and I have to use a bypass method to look at the article since I'm not about to join the site. I've posted articles over the years from the Lefty sites, seems you didn't have a problem with that.   But you do you, keep looking at everything only through left/right lenses.   The 3 or 4 of you that participate in the some of the comments had ample chance to read everything. Other members that don't care for it, send in comments, because as they will point out, political talk is discouraged. Both "sides" complain
    • Would be cool if someone made something most people would like.   Like a plug in tune that is to the end users desire minus messing with the throttle petal factory settings. Sport, economy and WFOT.
    • I don’t. The source is a far-right fake news site perpetuated by Glenn Beck. Funny how you clean up political posts and then regurgitate garbage from politically tainted sites.
    • Not a distraction. You miss the point of the article. It's not just for today's situation. Another way AI is being used and it may explain some of the prices changes when there is no apparent event to cause a 25 cent jump out of nowhere, only to immediately, the next day, begin to drop by 2 cents and so on. These situations were happening before the Iran thing fired off.   I used to be in the retail gas/service business. Pretty much a $1 increase in WTI would increase my price by maybe .10 cents. Now WTI can go down and retailers can get hit with a .35 cent increase out of nowhere.   I thought it was interesting read, since this is being used on all products we buy now
