Take a look at YouTube guys use new wax ring from toilet melted down spray on as undercoating what's your thoughts on this

I saw a video of a guy with a Toyota try it. The wax was a pain to keep hot enough to spray. It'd cool down after a couple minutes and he'd have to heat it up again. He gave up on it. He switched to fluid film after that.

You're replying to a post that was referring to 2014 models a year ago. You say you have looked on chevy lots and found none with rust. That's understandable since GM has corrected the issue on most of the new 2015's sitting on the lots.

Although I haven't seen issues with my frame, it spends most of it's time covered in surface dust (and blasting it at the car wash does very little, it's just like glue).

It looked awesome brand new, but I am able to take my finger nail and scrape it off to the bare metal without much pressure. I'll be the guinea pig for this site for trying the linex/armaguard undercoat (everything is sprayed except driveline + exhaust) which I am getting down later this week.

Just emailed them this question, as it would most likely be useless just to coat the surface I am assuming they strip what they can. Since I was able to scratch it off with a nail, it probably won't take long with an actual scraper tool. They need the truck at least a full 24 hours. They've stated they've done a few new GMs without issue but didn't elaborate on the frame wax itself.

I was at the GMC dealership today and was looking under the new Canyon's and all of them have painted frames.

They do not strip the wax they said. Curious if it will cause issues but they've done a few new gms without issues so I'll see through the winter.

This is covered for a year on warranty so of it does fall off they can do touch ups and repairs to the bare metal. Problem with the gm wax and it falling off seems to be due to it getting hard and chipping. Others have obviously had factory application problems with some looking like they've had their wax melt off.

I had no visible issues with my frame wax so I'll be keeping an eye on how this will hold up.

Will be picking it up tomorrow so I will take pics.

Only surface rust. But I didn't pay $47k for this sloppy a** sh**.. Might be cool now, but in 10 years that's not ganna look pretty.

I also checked 3 American made 2014/2015 trucks, and (10) 2008 - 2014 work trucks and non have what mine does. 1 work truck has some gunk in the tube frame. But the rest are all clean and rust free.

I think mine was just touched during the drying process. How this made it past QC tho..........

Just got my truck from the dealer... Fixed... I guess... Crappy ass spray job. Over spray like a MF, already wrinkling from being sprayed on chipping coating.
