Frame Rust Build Date 12/13 ?

Get the TSB number on your own, and give it to them so they can't deny there is one. I hate these games that these dealerships like to play. It's ridiculous.

On a side note here, a coworker just bought a 2014 F-150 XLT. I was looking at it yesterday, and Ford uses a really nice hard coating on their frame. GM should take notes on that aspect at least...

I went to a ford dealership and looked under all of their 2014 F150's, a total of 12 and none of them had a bit of rust.

Experiencing the same issue. Purchase date July 2014 (less than 200 miles), lots of rust and GM states this is normal. This isnt normal for chassis coating to just fall of especially when purchased new. This is ridiculous!

I don't understand why there is so much inconsistency in these trucks, the 2014 CrewCab loaner they gave me has a build date of 4/14 and the undercoat is perfect.

I had the same experience, until I called GM.... Then I got my entire frame re-coated, and undercoated. It looks perfect now and the new finish seem MUCH more durable than the original.

What number did you call? who did you talk to and what did you say?

Do your research on this thread and the couple of others on the same subject in this forum (read ALL the posts). The rusty frame is covered under warranty IF YOU bring it up to the dealer service dept - see info and pictures in the posts, including materials for the dealer to use and directions on how to do the job plus direction saying the repair to be done under warranty. Same thing for the rust rear diff - all covered in these posts - with pictures and dealer instructions.

What are you trying to point out by posting this in multiple threads? None of these "improvements" address the frame, just the body. They still coat the frames in wax as they have done for decades, except now the wax coating is a different formula that is cheaper in quality and does a worse job protecting the frame than the previous wax coating used on the GMT900's and earlier.

The chassis is part of the frame. See my edit on the post above yours. My point is that it's all BS. Any GM rep that tells you having bare metal and rust all over the frame is normal obviously is full of shit and point them to the chevy and GM media sites. They are making false advertising claims on these trucks.

Oh I gotcha I missed that point. I remember seeing a promotional video that talked about all of the corrosion protection improvements they made and they showed the galvanized body panels and the anti chip rock guard but they didn't say anything at all about the frame. I was under the impression they hadn't advertised that as being "improved" but I guess they did. Sorry for the confusion.
