Difference between All Terrain SLT and SLE?

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that you can get the All terrain package on SLT and SLE models, what are the differences?

SLT has leather seats w/ carbon fiber "look". SLE has cloth. I think the SLT has some additional chrome accents, not sure.

you can get cloth bucket seats in the SLE or leather bench is what my local dealer is telling me...doesn't make any sense to me to offer the package like that.

SLT is a more upscale model. More standard features that are optional of the SLE

The buckets on the SLE are a leather-trimmed cloth. Cloth on the seating surfaces and "leather" on the side bolsters and headrest. Only color option for the cloth buckets in All Terrain SLE is black. I think the SLT has red accent stitching and the SLE is gray.

SLE has rear park assist and I think SLT has front and rear.

That's all I remember off the top of my head when I was looking. I went with the SLE purely because I hate leather.

They get the lights from their trim level. The slt gets the lights with the led accents

Also, no Bose 7th speaker in the AT SLE. The upgraded amp/sub package is only available in the SLT models.

The AT SLE will have the standard 6 speaker Bose stereo.

GMC has a great website with all the differences. You can even compare them side by side..

Are the headlights different?

No, they both (SLT and SLE) get the LED signature lighting on the All Terrain. All other SLE's do not get the LED signature lights.

True on all other SLT and SLE models, except the All Terrain. The All Terrain SLE's get the LED headlights, chrome body side molding, chrome mirror caps (chrome full feature mirrors), and chrome door handles just like the SLT's.

I like the LED signature lighting, but the chrome mirrors, door handles, and body side moldings, along with the fact you could only get cloth buckets w/console turned me away from the SLE All Terrain. I would have ordered the All Terrain with the chrome bumpers, so I just got the SLE Z71 which comes with chrome bumpers, but body colored body side moldings, door handles, and mirror caps. I don't like leather (pleather) seats, and buckets w/console are fine for cars, but I don't like them in a truck. Thus, a very well equipped SLE with the All Terrain Grille swap got me the closest to the perfect truck, for me.

I "built" these options and trim levels for about 3 months before finding the 99% "everything i want" truck...off the lot.

True- the SLE has 6 speaker BOSE (no Amp or Sub) SLT has the Amp/Sub. Both have same lights.

the ALL Terrain SLE comes with Body color on all parts, EXCEPT Mirror Caps, and Door Handles. The SLT comes with Color coded on both.

SLT - you have the OPTION to get Heated/COOLED seats...not so on SLE. this is STOCK, not after market, or dealer installed, which Anyone can do later..for a small $1800 fee.

Correct again - SLE - REAR Prox. SLT - Front/Rear Proximity.

the 1% that was missing from mine - is the Trailer brake controller... I tow, but my trailer doesn't even Have brakes...but future plans..

and - that i WANTED Color keyed handles.

one thing i do like, in the maroon color - due to color keyed bumpers - you put it next to a Denali in same color...and you can only see the difference (those who know) - Grille - Tailpipe - and Rims.

I LOVE this truck.

Close, but the SLT doesn't have body colored handles and mirror caps, they are chrome as well. Neither trucks can be had with cooled seats, that isn't available in any AT due to the specific seats in the AT which GMC decided not to build with a perforated/cooled variant. Same goes for lane departure warning, not available. The front prox can be had in the SLT, but I think it's optional in the SLT convenience package, ie it isn't standard on any trim below Denali/HC. Not sure if it's available at all on SLE. It is very handy, I'll say that much for sure.

One more comment, an SLT AT is a (arguably better looking) poor boy's Denali. With the lone exception of the full dig DIC, the SLT/AT can be optionally equipped better than the Denali for significantly less cash. In that setup, it's very much like a Denali which has been de-chromed a bit. Which is great for me, because I think GM crossed the near-garish line with the Denali chrome about 10 yrs ago.

Unless I missed something, and I studied it a LOT, the ONLY things one can get on a Denali which can't be had on the AT is the grille, lane depart & cooled seats, and dig dash. I don't count the wheels since they vary a lot and can be swapped around. I guess you can't get the badge either. But that's an expensive badge if u ask me.

The grille can be swapped. To a denali grille if you want
