New Silverado in shop now for almost 2 weeks

On Monday, 2 weeks ago, I had an appointment to get 2 recalls done. The appointment was made over the phone after the dealership called me to schedule it. I advised the lady on the phone that I would need the oil changed while it was there. Obviously, to save me a second trip down there. When I dropped it off, I again told the service manager, who I gave my keys to, that I needed to get the oil changed. I picked it up just before closing on the same day. On the way home, I checked to see if they had reset the % indicator for the oil & it was still showing 20%. I called back to the service dept & asked if they had changed the oil & he said that they hadn't because it had to have over 5000 miles. Well, it actually had over 6000. They also hadn't even checked some of the other things that I had discussed with them.

I rescheduled to get the oil changed two days later & to have the other issues looked at. Wednesday morning, I go back to service dept & they tell me that they will have to have it all day again. I had to have a vehicle so they carried me to rental car office & rented a small suv for me, which I am still in to this day.

From what I have been told, they are waiting on a new seat frame to be delivered to fix the drivers seat. It was suppose to be here "at the latest Thursday or Friday." I called this morning & service writer was going to check on status of the parts order & let me know "within an hour." It's been well over that & I have not received a call back.

I am wanting to just contact GM myself to see when I might get this resolved. Does anyone have a contact # for GM or any other suggestions?

Drivers seat frames are on a national control parts restriction so it will take some time as there is a certain ordering process to get a new one, plus depending on which one you have, there is either limited or no inventory. Clearly GM may see there is a problem, and that is the reason for the restriction. And, they are still building trucks as well. Be patient, call GM if you'd like as well, and if you have any more trouble with your dealer, try another one after they fix yours.

That makes sense. I even offered to let them put the seat back in the way it was & I would bring it back when the part came in. They assured me that they would have had the part last week. I am just fed up with the all the bs they are feeding me about it. Just be honest about it.

Seems like there is more to the story that I am not being made aware of???? If they would give me another truck to drive, they can keep it as long as they want. I just need a truck to use everyday. If I wanted an SUV, I would have kept what I had previously!!!

I how they get your truck back soon. A loaner or rental just isn't the same as your own vehicle.

I'm trying to pick my truck after having a Sonic loaner for a week. Seat frame wasn't looked at from what I was told over the phone. Waiting I. Service writer over 30 minutes. Who calls a meeting when customers are dropping of or picking up after work?

Update...drove it home tonight...no body damage, but seat not fixed either. They have no idea when the part will be in. It is hard for me to believe that they would continue paying for a rental when the truck has always been drivable. Oh well, just glad to have it back. Thanks for all the replies!

Your not the only one going thru this drama. Good luck. Oh, every time they put me in a rental I bring it back on empty. Screw GM they waste my time , they can pay for my gas!

What exactly is wrong with the seat frame? That sucks they had your truck that long and its still not fixed. Hopefully that part comes in soon!

the welds holding it together crack and the seat comes loose

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Buick Encore and Cadillac ATS; 2014 Cadillac CTS, ELR, Chevrolet Caprice and SS vehicles; and 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Trucks.
