Ventshades fell out

I installed AVS ventshades (in channel) within a week of getting my truck and yes I followed the directions.

It has been a couple of months and last week while the truck was parked all week, three of the shades fell out.

Any advise on how to get them to stick better? If not I might just take them off.

I use the EGR in channel and just transferred them to my new Silverado. I used goo gone to clean off the old tape and used double sided scotch tape to apply. Holding strong! Hope this helps.

How did they fall out when it was parked. Were the windows open? One of mine had a problem so I called AVS and they were very helpful.

One of them was just hanging so I could see that the sticky stuff was still in the channel but had come off of the tabs. It was not a hot week (mid 80's) but I do have a black truck. I think the truck got hot and the sticky softened and the shades slid down. It was the two rear and the passanger was down enough that when I saw it I just pulled it out for fear I would loose it driving down the highway.

I took mine off and was going to call avs for a refund.. I even put extreme outdoor mounting tape on and they were still

always loose

The tape tye use is crap mine fell out the first time I put the windows down. They were dealer installed.

I put good quality 3m tape on them and they are stuck now.

All though they make noise when the wind jits them and scrap if the windows get dirty.

I'm getting some stampede for it and chucking the AVS ones.

Well this isn't good news. I just installed AVS in-channel vent visors on my truck 2 days ago. It seems like they're holding so far.

I can't believe yours fell out a couple months after installation. If they glue didn't adhere, how could they have lasted that long?

Reading the amazon reviews it seems the tabs are not long to be pinched in the channel. I emailed AVS and they are sending me new ones.

what is the point of vent shades again? sounds like a bad idea from the 80's.

im having the same problems with mine. my front drivers door and rear drivers door. the middle of the vent shade is coming down as the double sided tape is still "in the channel" and I can see the two middle tabs with no tape on it. im going to pull them off clean them and use 3m tape to see if that works... a little irked about it b/c I have only had them about 2 months and I had not heard of anyone having this issue with them like the weathertech ones. oh well.
