Looks great! What kind of tape did you use? The lines came out SO clean. I was thinking of doing the same thing to my truck. Flat black on black.

Homedepot brand blue painter's tape. Seriously. I think the secret is in the technique more than the materials. Spray at right angles to the tape. Spray heavy, juuust to the point of sag but, obviously, don't sag. Remove tape at a sharp angle BEFORE it dries. Ie, remove tape the moment you are done spraying, while still wet.

Ditched the rear gmc emblem but kept the others?

Yep. I kinda like the others. The SIERRA letters look good to me, and it's an AT so I already paid dearly for the AT badge so I figured I would keep them as well. But the tail GMC badge just got bigger and bigger every time I looked at it. I felt like I was driving one of those vinyl wrapped advertising vehicles.

Damn. That came out incredible! And so clean around the letters of Sierra and the A/T badging on the tailgate. Are you planning to do the roof too?

Thanks guys. I may do the roof, but it's so hard to see I'm not sure it's worth it. My OCD kinda requires it though.

My OCD is the reason why I asked [emoji23]

It'll be worth it IMO. I looks great though man.

This looks awesome! Did you ever end up doing the roof? If so, any pictures? Also, you said you peeled off the tape while it was still wet - With Plastidip you usually do multiple thin layers. Safe to assume you did this and removed the tape on the last coat while it was wet, or did you just lay it on thicker the first coat and removed the tape then? I'm not sure I've ever gotten a solid coverage on the first spray with it before (Probably a stupid question, sorry).

So how long did this end up lasting before you removed it or it came off ? How did it affect your paint under. That glare is driving me nuts already. Trying to figure out a solution to fix this

Never did the roof. And...nobody ever asked! In person anyway. Right now I don't have them as I just got the truck back from the shop (fender bender) and weather hasn't been good for spraying.

Yes, for plasti you normally do several layers. But then the tape tears the dip as you try to remove. This was one heavy coat. I did go over the area about 3 times while it was still wet.

Had it for right at two years, and it held up astonishingly well. Tailgate was PERFECT. Only thing that happened was a few rock pecks on leading edge of hood started to peel a couple of spots. But, it did protect the paint underneath.

I can't see ANY affect on the paint. That said, it's normally inside either a garage or a parking structure, so very little sun.

I REALLY miss them, if for no other reason than the glare. I had forgotten how bad it was!
