Best all terrain tire

I'm looking for an aggressive all terrain tire that will last with high highway miles. Size will be 275/65r20. Thinking about bfg's, toyo, cooper, or nitto. Thanks for input

All terrain, however not the most aggressive, but you will be happier when driving on the Hwy. Michelin LTX A/T2

Check out the Falken Wild Peak A/T. It does not look aggressive but it has been a great overall tire, I have had mine for 2 years and they show very little wear. If you are willing to spend more check out the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac, it looks aggressive and is considered one of the best A/T.

That's like asking 'what's the best ice cream flavor?'

There are a few new types of tires on the market that are more aggressive than the past typical AT tires, and bridge the gap between AT and MT.

The new Toyo OC RT, Cepek Fun Country AT, Mickey Thompson ATZ, Cooper ST Maxx, and others are some examples.

You said "aggressive" so I would put my money on the Toyo OC RT or the Cooper ST Maxx. Actually, I did put my money on the Cooper ST Maxx.

Has anyone seen the new BFG AT ko2's? They look good. Could be a good option but I'm not even sure they're for sale yet.

I like the looks of the KO2 as well. I had KOs on my old truck and they were really quiet. I think they're supposed to release them on Nov 1.

This is what I'm thinking of.. KO2s aren't out till early next month, but they look nice.

I've also been considering the Toyo OC AT. since I'm keeping stock size I don't want the side wall TOO aggressive.

Heard lots of good things about the OC RT though. It's a hybrid between the MT and AT. You get them ore aggressive tread and sidewall without the noise and wear of an MT. I think it's a smart move from Toyo.

I'm probably 95% on road, and my offroading is 99% gravel, maybe 1% clay/grass/leaves so I don't need some super swampers myself.

Nitto terra grapplers are fairly nice but the sidewall doesn't really leave me saying "aggressive." I think you'd need their MT to really get that.

It's all about the sidewall these days. Plenty of tires can do well offroad, but wont LOOK aggressive.

Nitto also has trail grapplers which are an aggressive all terrain, one step under their mud tires

Take a look at Cooper ZEON LTZ's I ran two sets on my 07 model and got about 45K miles a set. Mostly Highway miles and they are quiet and aggressive.

Not sure if it matters to you or not, but most of the tires in this size (275-65-20) are going to be LT series tires. I just had Bridgestone Dueler A/T's in that size installed last week, and there is a definate difference between the "P" tires and "LT" tires. They are heavier, so you typically lose a mpg or two because of that, and then with them being 10 ply (vs 4 ply on the "P"s) the LT tires ride a bit rougher than the stock tires. As for my input on the Bridgestone A/T's.....its only been a week so the jury is still undecided. Haven't had them off road yet, but in the rain they did quite well, and on the highway, they have just a little hum to them. And as I said, I probably lost a MPG or so, as well as the ride being a little rougher than stock was.

My opinion is that "P" rated tires have no place on these trucks.

Check out the Hankook Dyna pro ATM as well. I ran a set of cooper LTZ on my last vehicle. They were quiet, looked good, and performed well in gravel. Not great in snow (not sure where you're located). I went with the toyo OC At2 and am very happy with them other than the 10 ply ride. The Hankooks I mentioned look great for a "p" rated tire.
