Best all terrain tire

Check out the Hankook Dyna pro ATM as well. I ran a set of cooper LTZ on my last vehicle. They were quiet, looked good, and performed well in gravel. Not great in snow (not sure where you're located). I went with the toyo OC At2 and am very happy with them other than the 10 ply ride. The Hankooks I mentioned look great for a "p" rated tire.

'14 Iridium SLT All terrain, 2.5 RC Level, 34" Toyo at2, Bilstein 5100 rears, air dam removed, short antenna, diablo sport tuner, 40" curved LED light bar.

What size Toyos did you go with?

275/65/20 which is 34". Great tires, just a little stiff. I really needed the 10 ply tires for the loose shale they use on northern Maine logging roads.

I am trying to decide between the Goodyear Duratrac and the new Toyo Open Country R/T. I have run the Duratrac on my last truck and liked them especially in the snow. Is anyone running the Toyo R/T and if so how do you like it?

I went Toyo Open Country ATII XL 305/50R20. Not an LT tire but a better load rating than OEM. Went from 17" OEM alloys and Bridgstone 255/70R17 to these on Fuel wheels and it rides better both on and off road. Added only 16lbs per corner over OEM wheels and tires.

Completely Different tire and tire design. The ST MAXX has a 3 ply sidewall (Armor coat is what Cooper calls it) and is a heavier tire. I have a set of 275 70 18s on my 2009 silverado that have over 45K on the odometer and probably 15k more, 10k for sure. The Maxx are the best all around tire I have ever had a on a 4wd. Take a little more wheel spin to clear the centers but the outers clean like a MT. I have had them in sand snow, clay, river bottom mud and old logging trails and at no point did they let me down.

When its time for a new set the same will go on my truck.

BFG AT2 is the same old news just behind all other manufactures. Even a real review on their website (2 out of 3) said they did exactly the same as the old on a muddy road. If you read anything about "better" most I have seen are guys that are diehard BFG guys. Most reviews are the on the web are still the paid ones by BFG. One of the mags called them out on their "test" tire not being the same as the production tread. BFG has yet to reply. I think it was 4wheeler. Im just not buying the "propaganda."

Just my opinion but if you will be running mostly asphalt,as stated above I have also ran the Cooper Zeons. I had them on a newer Ram in 305/55-20 and was very pleased. They had little road noise, wore great, and still looked practically brand new after 20k.

I've run many different all terrains... I use em too. From highway, to mud holes, to snow drifts. So far the Duratracs are the best tire I've run on my truck. They cost an arm and a leg though. I think I'll be trying the BF AT2's next. I loved the At's but they were too soft.

I have dick cepek fun country's on my truck. Slight road noise. They seem to be between mud and at tires. Good tire so far in the snow and mud that I have played in.

Cooper Tire and Rubber bought Mickey Thompson Tires in 2003. M/T bought Cepek before that. So M/T and Cepek tires are Cooper tires.

Have any of you guys traded in your oem tires toward new ones? I've seen a few people around the forum mention they have done this. I am curious if this is a common thing shops will do, or if it's only at certain big name places.

Yes, I did it. Purchased BFG ko2's and received $67.50 per SR-A I traded in. Not bad if you ask me. Basically about te same as getting 1 BFG TIRES at no charge.

Was it a local shop or a big name place? Closest franchise or whatever you want to call them is a little over an hour from where I recently moved, that's why I am asking. I didn't want to sound like an idiot going to a local shop wanting to trade my tires in with 2100 miles on them and have them look at me like scooby doo lol.
