Just noticed a tick/clicking noise on idle around the catalytic converter area..is this normal?? Thx

When you are driving or when it is shut down? Catalytic converters operate at really high temps and the will tick/ping when cooling down.

I've had the truck for 2 weeks now and remote started it and heard the noise while getting in truck..so during idle

my camaro with the 6.2l clicked as well. I cant remember why but it was normal operation.

It may be a different issue. But with the camaro, which I believe is the same engine. The clicking was part of diagnostic check.

Not trying to hijack, but does this engine (5.3) make ticking noise? Sounds like a quieter version of Ford 7.3 Powerstroke injectors. Is that normal?

in all seriousness, you are just hearing the motor, its direct injection so it has louder than "normal" engine sounds.
