Muffler Leak ?

There is a small "leak" or hole, not sure, in the bottom rear of the muffler on my 2014 Silverado 5.3 CC LT. Does anyone know if this is by design? To remove condensation form the muffler perhaps?

Thanks!

should any exhaust leak from thi on start up mine does that tell it warms up

No, there should not be any exhaust leak from the drain hole, but it also could be water vapor that you are seeing, not exhaust fumes. If the exhaust was leaking through the hole, then it would leak all the time while the engine is running. I have seen motorcycles with cheap factory mufflers (e.g. Kawasaki EX 500) that tend to develop exhaust leaks through the drain holes because the inner muffler pipe is cheap thin carbon steel and it rusts through after several years. You cannot see anything on the outside of the muffler, it is all internal corrosion.
