2014 Silverado windshield chips

my 2010 did not chip as easy as these are.

 

I think that is backwards on the angle. My corvette is very laid back and the rocks kinda

skip up the window instead of slamming into it. I think the more straighter the more damage?

Since you followed my post, I'll assume you were addressing me? I totally agree on the cars angled glass deflecting rocks without damage over the more upright truck glass that will be more likely to chip/crack.

I'm getting my second replacement windshield installed Monday. Last one was installed Feb of last year. Put on a AVS bugflector today and see if that helps..

I just got mine filled in. Cost me $40 bucks. I also ordered a Bug Shield in hopes it helps with the deflection of rocks and other crap flying up at the windshield.

I dont think its the angle of the windshield as much as it is quality. My first truck was an '82 F150 and if you remember the old trucks.......the windshield had very little angle at all. I guarantee I had that truck long enough to get hit by many a flying rocks living on a ranch with gravel roads and not far from a gravel quarry with trucks flinging rocks all over the roads.

Their windshields are shit. Four previous GM pickups with 150k+ miles on each and never a chip. My wife's Lexus with twice the miles as my truck drives the same roads I do 4 days a week and I drive 2 days a week. No chips in hers. My father in laws '14 probably has more chips than mine. It's the angle, or the quality of the glass.

All that doesn't mean anything it's all probability just a cuz a rock is bigger doesn't mean it's likely to cause more damage even a small rock can cause more damage it's not just about the angle of our windshield it's also about the rock it self it's physicsl proprieties rock are in all different shapes and sizes . Just remember we live in an uncontrolled environment could of happen to anyone. If ur really unsatisfied with our windshield quality I assume you would wanna upgrade or get bulletproof glass.

I am a windshield crack champ I guess. I had 4 replaced on my last truck and haven't had the new one that long and got my first crack on my last trip up to NY.
