Try to be. 12 years in Boy Scouts taught me to be prepared.

I forgot to list a set of the "hockey puck led flares". They are the cheaper ones from Autozone, 3/$15 on sale last year. Work pretty good for the money. Have used them when working through the night for more visibility while on wire guard.

You're the guy I want to see come down the road when I'm broke down.

And I'll stop too. Try to be a good neighbor though some people I've learned will try to take advantage of you (aka steal your vehicle) out here. That's what my Glock 30 is for. I'll gladly help you but if you threaten me or my wife is in the vehicle I will protect my stuff and my loved ones.

You must love smoking cigars if you're gonna do that. I only got my 50 count humidor in my house and then a small 5 cigar portable humidor

I have a 24 hour bag that goes with me almost everywhere. Has enough supplies for a 24 hour trip home on foot in the event of an emergency of some sort. I could realistically live out of this bag for 72 hours if needed. It's for any situation that would require me to leave my truck behind and travel by foot. This all fits into a 5.11 Rush 12 pack and weighs in at 15lbs.

Bottled water

Sawyer water purifier

Fire starting kit (couple bic lighters, windproof lighter, dryer lint and a magnesium block)

Emergency am/fm radio

LED flashlight and headlamp

100' 550 cord

two small tarps for shelter

A large and small knife

Chemlights

Toiletries (partial roll of tp, small bar of soap, toothbrush/toothpaste, sun screen and bug spray)

Tool kit (leatherman, duct tape, zip ties)

An old iPhone with maps on it (the map feature works even with no service enabled)

Extra change of clothes, seasonally appropriate

Energy bars, beef jerky, etc.

Pair of Mechanix gloves

Floppy boonie hat

Cheap sunglasses

Solar charger for iPhones or any other USB device

Extra magazines and ammo (I CCW daily)

Stuff that stays in the truck:

A few heavy duty 3" wide ratchet straps, a pair of work gloves, small hand tool kit, some rags and a length of chain. A bag of kitty litter goes in the bed during the winter.

No way dude. That guy is wacky. I prefer to be prepared. Not a prepper, but I think in this day and age we should all be prepared and survival skills are important.

The only tool I carry is a ratchet and driver to keep the hose clamps on my 2014 drivers seat tight. Great design GM... NOT. Oh yeah , and my Glock.

Fantastic thread. I need to take an inventory of what I've got on board, and I'll be adding some items after reading this as well. Bump!
