I have so much in my toolbox that the tray wasn't able to lay on those lips so I just laid the tray in the bed and it flew out somewhere lol.

I keep a few essentials. Jumper cables, gloves, cargo straps, tow strap, worklight & a few tools. Now if I'm on a long trip or in snow country then I'd have a whole bunch more but day to day that's all i carry.

1000' of 550 cord

tarp

hatchet

Buck sheath knife

Leatherman Supertool

water purifier

Camp stove with 4 tanks of white gas.

Rechargeable 1200 lumen LED flashlight

3 cell Maglight LED

Extra AA and D Batteries

Complete custom build Trauma kit.

Backpack with extra clothes for myself and my wife.

 

That's my list for now. Working on getting a few more items in my truck as well.

I'd like to see what everyone else keeps in there trucks. I'll get a pic when I can.

Where do you keep all of this stuff?

For daily travel.....CB, Cell Phone and Charger, Portable Air Compressor, Tire Plug Kit, Flashing Blue Light, Flashlight, Ratcheting Strap, Bungee Cords, Bunging Netting, a couple of pieces of scrap wood, Cross Lug Wrench, Tow Chain and 2" Draw Bar.....going in soon (today)....Sleeping Bag and Blanket (must have in the Northeast with snowstorms)

Not near as much as some here. Basic towing/tiedown gear, a basic first aid kit, OBDII scan tool and little else. I figure a full tank of gas and a loaded pistol ought to solve most any problem should poo hit the fan.

Where do you keep all of this stuff?

I keep it all under the backseat. I organize by using backpacks.

I keep the water in the bed.

Let's see, flashlights, butane zippo, pocket knife, pepper spray, a couple of odd ends of paracord, dog bone, leashes, some grocery bags, and sensitive baby wipes. I swear I get more use outta the ding dong baby wipes than anything else. They're like the real world equivalent of Douglas Adam's towel. Runny nose, dusty dashboard, spilled coffee, dirty hands, sweaty face/neck, muddy dogs/kids.......damned swiss army knife of paper products.

 

Once I get a spray liner I'll probably add a low-profile tool box and through some other odds and ends in there like jumper cables and such.

In the 2013 Silverado

 

1. Bunny boots, winter coat, gloves and hat.

 

2. Tow strap/ratchet straps and jumper cables

 

3. Lockout kit, tire plug kit, OBD2 code reader and my .45

 

4. A few McDonald's French fries between the seats im sure for when I'm really stranded and hungry.

 

Now in the 91' k2500..

Most of the same gear as above-

Extra oil, coolant, spare ignition module, spare ignition coil and extra cap and rotor. I Love tbi trucks hah.

Way too much to list because I'd probably forget half of it. I have a normal full size toolbox (not low pro) and everything barely fits in there and I don't even want to guess how much the box weighs with everything in there. Let's just say I'm ready for just about any problem and some stuff I've bought as a "just in case I need it". Then there's all the stuff I have inside the cab under the back seat like a gas can and extension cords. Then of course all the small stuff I have in both glove boxes, center console and the storage bin in the center seat under the console.

 

To show why I said I can't list them since it's too much to list here's some pics. Also remember there's also a bunch of towing and recovery stuff under the jumper cables and ratchet straps and also there's stuff under everything lol. The only thing that you see on top and nothing is under it is the black toolbox on the left, everything else has stuff under it. Yet, I know where everything is so it's for the most part organized, even though it doesn't look like it lol. Then the last pic is just what's under the back seat which is the gas can, extension cords, a surge protector and a 4 way box.

I have kind of a very unorganized array of equipment. I have a toolbox (Biggest saddle box Weatherguard makes), with a lot of Electrician tools. Most everything I need when I pull up to a job.

 

As far as emergency supplies, I have a tow rope, jumper cables, small version of the automotive toolbox from the garage, Gallon of oil, power steering fluid, and coolant.

 

 

Now to clarify, I live, work and drive in the city. I have NEVER needed any of those items before....I have free towing arranged with my cell phone provider.

 

 

When I venture out of suburbia, I do tend to stock up a lil more...

I have a surp belt but no tools to change it, 1 extra contact lens for each eye, a recovery strap, a 4 foot zip tie, and a bottle of trans fluid just incase i ever come across a burnout competition and i need to get em spinning. Seriously thats why i bought it
