I'm wanting to upgrade to 4.10 from my current 3.42 gears as my 35" tires have robbed me. My dealer cannot find anything for the 2014s? Has anyone done this and know what is needed and from where I can get 4.10 gears? Thanks!!

Nothing GM as they only do a 3.73 gear and thats on the max tow 9.75" axle. Did a couple quick searches on google, couldn't find anything. Wouldn't hurt to try a local driveline/axle shop in your town.

If you're feeling in a giving mood around Christmas time, whenever you put new gears in send me your 3.42s lol. Can't stand my 3.08s.

They lowest gear they put in these trucks is 3.73 which is what I plan on changing mine to.

I would personally go to 4.56's for 35's.

I could be wrong, but I believe 4.56 with 35s is equivalent of 3.73 with factory 31"(roughly) tires. So 4.10 with 35s should be the same as 3.42s with 31 factory tires.

yea the numbers may work out to be equal. But you also gotta take into account the added mass/weight of the bigger tires/wheels. 4.56's would help mitigate that.

I was just saying in case he wants the same performance and mileage that he has now. As for the extra weight, I don't think it matters that much with just 35s. I'm just guessing on that though. Especially being that they put bigger and bigger rims from the factory now. I'm pretty sure 18s with 35s are lighter than 22s with factory size tires (example, not sure what size rims he has). I could be wrong though. Of course it's not a bad thing to go a little lower so not saying you're wrong, just usually someone that lifts a daily and changes gears wants roughly the same performance and mileage as it was stock. I'd worry more about making sure the brakes were up to par which the brakes on these trucks seem to be good enough for 35s, but bigger I would think about upgrading

Do you have a 10 or 12 bolt gear?  I just picked up two 4.10 gear sets with master kits for around 700 bucks from Elite Gear, Rons machining carries them. The carrier stays the same between the two rearends.   I run 34.5" tires.  Remember,  both diffs on 4x4.

4wheelparts charged me 2357 out the door front and rear all done and ready to roll.  They also put in a gear and tire tuner I didn't know about in that charge.  I returned that for a refund however.  I already have an edge cst I use.

A 14’ Silverado has either 9.5 12 bolt rear axle (normal trucks with 5.3), OR a 9.75 12 bolt rear axle (all 6.2 motors, AND 5.3 with max tow). From what you posted I *believe* you have a 5.3 with the 9.5 12 bolt rear axle.

AAM (OEM) now makes a 4.10 gear for our 9.5 12 bolt axles (link below). Yukon makes more options but from my research, going above a 4.10 will require a larger differential cover (no biggie). The other question you should ask yourself is if you want to add a locker in the rear, or swap out the G80 (if equipped) for something else like a truetrak while you are paying for the gear swap (I would). FYI, 4.10/35 will place you slightly deeper in gearing than 3.42/31 (stock). As others said you may be bogged down with the 4.10/35 compared to your stock set up due to increased weight of those 35”, but who knows by how much. Another great site to check out is posted below as well.
