Im also pretty sure a McGaughys 7-9 inch set at 9 inches will clear a 37 as well. Depending on wheel specs you can also do a 7 inch lift and a 1.5 inch body lift to clear a 37.

Does Fabtech still net closer to 8" of actual lift? Either way add the BL. It will look good. Ive been running that combo for years and I'm happy with it. No one can spot the body lift.

Drop in a set of coilovers and cognito UCA's in the front and higher bend leafs in the rear to get an additional ~2 inches without having that ghastly body lift, then if you want more go fiberglass fenders and box for high clearance tire travel.

You'd be running 40's like it's nobodies business then and you don't have the useless bumpers and awkward engine bay that a body lift delivers.

hokey, ghastly, and awkward. Those are some good adjectives. What's your experience level with body lifts? I'd be interested to know, as would the op, as to what issues you've had with them, Dick.

Subpar bumper relocation brackets

Low quality brake line extensions

Recessed engine bay

Exposed frame rails

Extensive install for product simplicity

Body shift

Admitting you did a body lift

What kit were you running with the poor quality. What year truck? I'm curious to know about the shifting body as well. That's something I've never experienced.

Bought a 2001 GMC with a 6procomp and unknown body lift and I was beyond unimpressed. Had it removed.

Friend with a 2005 Ram bought a kit for his Dodge and it was an absurd amount of work for us to install it for the results and overall simplicity of the part.

Spend the money on a good quality suspension lift and do it right, in my opinion. Mickey mousing it just leads to more issues.

So no catastrophic failures or specifics on problems then? I can tell you this. I'll likely be replacing some front end parts in the near future as a result of my quality suspension lift and wheels/tires. Can't say the same for the BL. It seems to be serving me well.

I've run body lifts on many trucks, never had an issue. Yes a 3" BL is a PITA to install but dollar per inch of lift it's very economical, especially when you get in the top range of "standard" 6-8" lifts...hell I actually rolled one of my trucks that had a body lift on it (not because of the body lift so don't bark up that body roll tree) and surprisingly the body never budged off the frame. I was actually shocked to be honest, now that's extreme testing it lol

My .02 to the OP is add a 1" leveling kit to your 6" lift and get the zone 1.5" bl to give you 8.5" total. I have the 1.5" zone bl on my 14 and it's a very simple install, plus only ~$180

I ran a 3in bl on my colorado and never had any issues other then the physical appearance but granted I was 99% on pavement so yea. But as far as price goes it just depends how deep are your pockets???
