So i FINALLY received my bumper yesterday evening after ~ three weeks of wait time. I didn't get any pictures of it last night since i was busy, but ill get some taken today after work.

Question:

What should i do with the parking assist holes?

I don't have park assist on my truck and I thought that the bumper would come with some form of hole plugs installed, but it didn't. I haven't opened all of the hardware packages up yet so they may be included in there, but i doubt it. What are your thoughts on the the idea of adding LED's to them such as these (http://www.oznium.com/led-bolt)? I was thinking that maybe i would tie the LED's on the outside holes (would get amber color LED's), next to the fog light housing, into my headlight blinkers as a secondary blinker light. The two center LED's ( standard white LED's?) next to the light bar cutout could be tied into a standard power source and would be constantly on.

I measured the holes last night and they measured roughly 1 1/8". The largest bolt style LED that i can find is something like 16mm in diameter, so i would have to make some form of washer/plate for both sides of the bumper hole.

Thoughts?

First, I'd like to call you out as liar since you didnt post pictures lol. Second, I like leds would look cool. You could also pull off the amber led look pretty well too. Or you can also cut the holes in to squares and mount pods.

Haha fair enough. Ill post pictures in a few hours when i get off work. I plan to wrap the bumper tonight in preparation for the install coming this weekend, so ill get some pictures of that as well.

I went ahead and bought 2x amber 16mm LED bolts and 2x cool whilte 16mm LED bolts just now. When they come in, ill mess around with them and see how i like them. They are 1w each so they shouldn't be too bright to where they look out of place.

As far as mounting pods, I don't think that will work. There isnt much room behind the sensor hole area. You'll understand when you see pictures.

I like crafferty's idea of cutting the holes larger for light pods. Although your idea of some round LEDs are bad either but I personally would make them all switchback LEDs if you can find them. Attatched to their respective side would make a great blinker/running light combo! Especially if you complimented it with switchbacks in the headlights. Would also help add notice ability if you flip on the hazards.

So I think I'm going to skip the wrap for the time being. I used the swatch that I had and layed it down to see what it would look like given the powder coat has a fine rough look to it and the rough look definitely shows through the vinyl...

any update with this bumper installed??

any update with this bumper installed??

Its not completely finished yet, but here you go. Im still waiting on the 20" light bar that i ordered to come in so that i can install it (this is why the skid plat isn't installed under the bumper yet)

The only problems i had was the lack of hardware for the fog lights and the skid plate. I'm not sure if this was forgotten when they packaged everything or not. The fog lights don't sit down on the mounting point with the rigid brackets. I had to go to lowes and buy longer bolts and a bunch of washers to space the lights up to get them to sit in the cutout like they should. I tried calling SCA yesterday about this and received a message saying that they are closed until 1/4/16 for the holidays. I'm going to call them then and talk to them about it because what i have now works to an extent, but they dont sit straight/flush in the hole like i feel that they should. They also didn't supply the hardware for the skid plate to mount to the bumper. Granted its just nuts and bolts, but still... For the money, this should have been supplied. Hopefully they just forgot the hardware and will send it to me once i speak to them.

Here are some pictures of the install (cutting fender liners) and some i just snapped while at work. The truck is filthy and needs to be washed, but it keeps raining here nearly everyday and it would be pointless to wash it now lol

Man, if I kept up with my own thread I created, I would have had to take you up on your offer of shipping Crafferty.

Tim, how well built and strong does the bumper seem to you? Drew told me the winch is solely mounted to the bumper and not reinforced onto the frame. For some reason, I am kind of leary of the strength of it still. I looked over 1 at a local dealer but did not really go into detail. Mine won't come in until mid January by Drew's estimation. And also Tim, can you do me a favor and measure the opening for the center 20" light bar for me? I am seeing if I can fit 8 of these lights in there or may go 6 with 4 bottom and 2 staggered on top or vise versa. who knows

Hahaha thanks man

Here are a couple more of the full truck that I snapped when I was about to leave work. They're not the greatest, but it'll give you a better idea of the whole look.

The bumper seems quite strong to me. I'll try and measure the thickness tomorrow for you. With that said, I'd still be a bit leary of mounting a winch solely to the bumper. When I spoke to him I thought he had said that it mounted to the frame rails as well? Maybe I misunderstood him.

The light bar hole measures 21.5" from the inside of the mounting bracket to inside of the other bracket. The plastic measures a hair past 21" from side to side and roughly 3 5/8" from top to bottom.

Thank you. Well I guess I will be using all 8 in that hole. Now I need to decide what to get for my rear.

To Rigid or not to Rigid the rear? And going to use JW Speaker for the fogs.

Agreed, you rigid.

Can i still put a grille guard on with this bumper? I thought i read it retained all factory mounting points. I love the bumper but deer are a real issue around here. Don't want to ruin it if i do get it. Would be the end of a good bumper and 12" light bar.

Is he back producing? And Good Lawd, that's $800 worth of lights.

And last time I checked JW didn't appear to have anything to fit the Sierra. What have you found?!

I bought his last 8 about a month ago. And received them a couple weeks ago.

For the JW Speaker, I am using the 6145 made for the JK Jeeps. It fits decently well with minor mods into the oem openings. I want to compare the 2 brands but don't know anybody with the d2 foglights.
