Absolutely false. A good body shop will do a better job than the factory ever will. Especially paint.

Haha I agree. Can't get any worse than the factory paint.

make sure you file depreciation claim on it. after my truck was fixed back a couple weeks ago, the ins company cut me a check for the tune of $6100! I came out very good on the deal with a truck that only had $7800 worth of damage and was fixed back perfect along with 6 grand.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Junkyardz, what is a depreciation claim and how do I go about the process of creating one?

Silverado Steve, the Infinity was ticketed for traveling too slow causing the BMW to rear end it. I am not sure if the BMW driver received a ticket for rear ending the Infinity or not. They should have by Texas law, but then again, I probably should have also. However, I was not ticketed. Out of kindness or not at fault, the officer did not write me a ticket.

you'll need to advise your ins adjuster that you want to file a depreciation of loss claim. my ins adjuster told me after I had mentioned it that the claim was something he technically couldn't offer until I had mentioned it. there is a formula they use from a 3rd party provider that spits out a number for depreciation value. a 45k dollar truck with low miles=a very large depreciation factor..good luck. let me know if you have any more questions I just went through the same thing with my truck wreck.

Thank you! The adjuster is looking at the truck tomorrow, so I will update all on the outcome including the estimate for damage if the body shop is able to get it done by tomorrow.
