you'll only hear bluetooth alerts if you are in media mode on your stereo. you cant play phone audio over the top of FM/AM from any method I can find or tried. the stereo simply is in a "mode", so its not going to do anything but whatever is in that mode. The only difference i see is a phone call ring, but that puts your stereo in phone mode, and doesnt play your custom ringtone over bluetooth either.

I'm not going to argue with you but with my iPhone 5 it didn't matter what source I was listening to,it would fade in for voice directions. There was a toggle you had to enable on the iPhone to do this. I am considering taking my droid back just so I don't lose that feature.

Since you work on these all day maybe you can find a workaround for droid?jk

I meet with Bosch on Thursdays and will ask their engineers about this

^^^^^^ He is correct. I tried every setting possible. The only way for Google maps to talk over a song playing is in media. You can play music from your phone and the Google maps will talk over your music. That's the only way I see. I don't see options when pairing a device either. I even tried plugging my phone into the usb port to do do. No dice.

Guess I might have to go back to apple. I also don't get album art on my screen like I did with iTunes vs google play.

I get all album art displayed on right of intellilink screen using my Moto X gen 2 running Lollipop. I do use Media Monkey for music.

I am 90% that I also got album art using Android music player on my Moto X gen 1, Kit Kat.

I get nothing running Google play on KitKat. I am using the turbo charger. Does USB have to be plugged in?

you need to provide more details about what you're doing if you want artwork to be displayed. you need the artwork on your phone more than likely, and it has to be plugged in.

 

what you're saying about iphone vs android doesnt make sense because the iphone doesn't work the way you're saying it does. we all have iphones and androids here, and can compare both and tell you exactly what will happen when.

 

the best experience with your phone is going to be plugged in via usb, however bluetooth works great for basic sound streaming.

Just shows you how different people are, bc I could care less about album art period. My screen shows artist and song title, good enough for me.

 

And if you are looking for album art on your screen from your phone, you will be in media mode anyways, and you nav voice will talk over your music.

I thought we were over the fact that my iPhone did interrupt radio for voice nav? Soltys had the same performance I did. Maybe we had the only 2 iphones with this ability? It was on a later update,but come on it was not hard to get ur iPhone to interrupt xm for voice prompts.

Theelementalcashew had the same experience also. So that's 3 members in one thread and you still say it won't work. An updated iPhone 5 will without a doubt interrupt your xm for voice prompts.

My iPhone will also interrupt radio to give direction prompts, I only use the built in maps app, I've never tried google maps though, using IPhone 6 plus

Here is a pic of the setting on the iPhone. It mutes the audio no matter what source and plays the nav speech.

      2024 l8t . Ac has never felt really cold even new. But lately it seems a little warmer. When it gets in the upper 80s and a little more humid it just does not keep up. And sometimes at idle it gets warm. My wife's 2008 envoy is better. My son's 2016 is colder. I have an apointment for a third try Monday the 29th at a third dealer to try and get cold ac before my warranty is out. The first two told me something about so many degrees under ambient temp blah blah blah seemed like they didn't want to mess with me. This was set at low. Max air fan speed high. 87 degrees and a little humid.   .

      It isn’t all that bad in the world with purchasing power versus quality. My first car had just basic equipment. My oil choice was conventional oil. The life expectancy was around 100K miles. During that time you could expect to change all the accessories. Today with inflation you can buy the equivalent. It comes fully loaded with 4 doors. The life expectancy passes 100K miles replacing no accessories. If reaching that milestone is your goal you simply follow the recommended service intervals. If you want more miles simply do more maintenance. When in doubt you can check the internet or YouTube for information. The selling of any product hasn’t changed since the beginning of time. The power of the buyer has. The price of the product hasn’t changed much with inflation. The buying public wants more. Competition and the buying public has put the sellers in a box. The greed is on both sides. You can still get more for less. You just have to do with less. That used to be popular. The buying public has changed . It’s the sellers that are trying to keep up. As Grumpy tries to inform the readers in this case with maintenance. If you want more. More effort is required. That information wasn’t available this easily just a few years ago. I believe the public has more power. Getting information is easier.

      Gentlemen, I'm new to this forum. My question is, I thought I have read somewhere that the rear wheel liners for 2024- 2026 GMC Sierra HD3500 DRW can/will fit the 2023. I can't seem to find that information again and wondering if anybody has any knowledge if these will work or not with the 2023? Part# is 84892542. Thank you for any information. The GMC parts counter wasn't able to give my any definitive answer?

      Its because they have thread locking compound on them. I would bet money that they are actually reusable and not a literal TTY bolt because GM and most other OEMs don't trust techs and the end-user to apply thread locker properly in the same way they don't trust anyone to solder properly (and instead instructing crimps everywhere). Torque To Angle =/ Torque To Yield.   If you think dealerships or any technician replaces every 'discard' bolt in every procedure, I have a bridge to sell you.
