GM REPS get in here!

To the GM reps that monitor this site. How about digging into this whole transmission issue that more and more people seem to be having. So far i haven't seen any of you respond with any help or insight of any update that may fix our problems. I may be mistaken if you have but how about a clear explanation of whats going on?

This should be a recall even though GM tac doesn't see it as a safety issue, it still plagues such a large number of trucks and is growing daily. Instead of me telling you what I think it is, why not you tell us what it actually is and how GM plans to fix it.

So far all we know is the excessive clearance of the clutch-pack (from my original service ticket where the dealer spoke with GM tac). Obviously these few replacement trannys are still defective.

Only GM knows how many of these problem transmission were put out there. Most dealers are telling people its normal and a few are throwing new units into our trucks that are also defective.

Lets finally have some truth out in the open and set yourselves apart from the other automakers by providing some transparency to this matter.

Thanks.

Those GM "Reps" are not on our side. Their job is to get all the details from you privately ("PM me with details and I'll be glad to help.") Then they figure out what all of us are thinking collectively, and what our strategy is going to be when we go to the dealer to complain about an issue. Then they pass it all on to GM so they can be waiting with their unhelpful "it's performing as designed" or other mostly unhelpful answers. I've only ever heard of a couple of people who thought the GM reps did something special for them that they could not have just done on their own. Sorry for the cynicism but as you said yourself, "Where are they now?"

IF they show up in this thread they will only tell you to send them a PM. they don't really care about most of our gripes and complaints on here. it's when millions of truck owners take their trucks in to get the same issue addressed that gets GM's attention. I have no hope in the GM reps or any reps on any forum to be of any help. only thing to do is hope and pray GM comes out with a TCM update that corrects the mapping of the transmission which would help 99% of the owners complaints / gripes.

They dont or wont show up because lip service wont fix the issue. If GM had an answer the reps would be more than happy to yap the praises of GM Customer Care. Im sure they are working on solutions, but they are all just "too expensive to release to the masses". I disagree with that logic when were all paying 40K-50K for these vehicles. Also forget right vs. wrong philosophy as that doesn't exist in Detroit. If you ran your daily life or work life as Detroit does you'd be broke and living in a box. Unfortunately, personal interest and bottom line over rule the responsibility of taking care of the people who bought your product. That's business in 2015..

It all boils down to $$$ when GM cheapens (if thats a word) the fix to the point that the bean counters are happy, they'll pull the trigger.

Seems like they have been chased away by all the negative comments.

Haven't seen them recently post on any of the boards I visit.

Well GM has the opportunity to at least give us the reason for 8 speed transmission problems on this thread or board. Instead the dealers, gm tac and customer care give different reasons for same issues. Now they all look incompetent.

All I would be satisfied with is a reason for problem, time frame for resolution and assurance their product as a whole will be defective free.

There is no reason my first and second request can't be provided. The third request should be remedied with an extended bumper to bumper warranty of some sort. And I understand they can't give everyone maximum b to b but at least some sort of assistance purchasing one.

Because like another poster said , trade in is shot when people are aware of the problems.

I had a 1990 454ss pickup that I sold before purchasing this junk.

It was smoother shifting than this.( only three speed lol)

We have a 1994 mark package stepside pickup 30,000 miles on it. Drives like a caddy. Rather drive that to see family in MI than this.

We figured that. But wanted to give them information to give engineers and them get back to us with real information.

Completely worthless, they are simply damage control, here to keep bad things under wrap, if they can make it seem as GM is helping them then people will be quiet, total joke.

This plus they help to be the bridge between the customer and the dealer. A vehicle isn't like tech support with a computer, no matter what you still have to have a dealer evaluate the issue your having. Send them a PM to get your issue logged, complaining about it in a thread is not going to help get anything fixed.

How about everyone get an independent national transmission shop (AAMCO) diagnose the problem then we all chip in to same lawyer to get fixed. We'd need a mediator and an agreed upon lawyer to handle everyone. Pretty much be same diagnosis from same shop all around the country.

Because obviously everyone with same tranny problem posting in same thread isn't enough for GM to help us as a whole.

Monday cus care should be getting back to me. If there is a fix in sight and adequate assurance with compensation I'll wait, if not I'm done.

So instead of them pm everybody and everybody getting different reasons and fixes from dealer.

Why not address it broadly in an open forum so we are on same page. Still can't believe the dealer thinks people are stupid by telling them it's normal.

If you think we are complaining, your wrong. Asking questions to compare problems and hopefully come to same resolution for everyone.

Some may vent frustration, I have, but that is to be expected when you get lied to, put off, disrespected, unappreciated and point blank S.O.L. after you drop 50 plus grand.

I think that ball is already rolling, and why they fixed the headlight issue. Hopefully the tranny update is coming soon. I'm sure some of these attorneys have been in contact with GM?

I received an unsolicited letter from an attorney here in Michigan, it has several of the problems listed that have been identified on this site. This is not a class action, but more of an individual lemon law deal. I haven't thrown it away.
