I just learned that a good paint sealant lasts longer and that wax actually melts in the sun. I ordered some sealant to go over my wax.

Finally had a chance to actually give her a solid coat of wax

That's a very nice job, however, since you enjoy paint detailing, check out glass-coating like 22PLE. Reflectivity is superior to that of a wax.

i just use the high pressure wax at the car wash, lol.

I gave my truck a full detail back in December. I took a clay bar to it, then polished the paint. I then went with two coats of sealant. The wheels got two coats of their own sealant and the running boards got some metal polish. I added a quick coat of sealant last month. With pollen season here, I might end up waiting until it is gone before detailing it again.

Sealant needs to go under wax....

Also wax doesn't give the paint the shine. The prep work (clay, Polish) does

I always clay bar before I put my sealant on. It is not good too put sealant over wax because you want the sealant to adhere to the clear coat . Waxes tend not too last as long as sealants do . I use rejex sealant and soon as the weather warms up in Ohio I will be doing mine . Truck looks good Jamin!
