I have been "driving it like I stole it" for a week now, no improvement and actually yesterday was the worst day yet. I made an appointment at the dealership for tomorrow and I will see what they say. Defintely going to throw out the software updates caveat and go from there. Hoping for the best.

You mean besides "normal", "cannot duplicate", operating as designed", "cannot find anything wrong","normal operating

characteristic of the vehicle"?

Hello Docrabbit,

How did everything go at the dealership today? Please let us know if you need any additional assistance. We look forward to your updates!

Couldn't have said it better.

Besides a very bad clunk mine has "slipped" shifting from 2-3 and sometimes feels like it downshifts from 3-1....very hard. After numerous dealer visits and six weeks dealing with GM Executive Referral dept. they tell me mine is "operating as designed." Dealer says they all clunk but some don't! No transmission updates available at this time per GM. $50,000+ & $5000 in accessories & still a POS.

I'm thinking about a sign in my windows inviting anyone thinking of buying a GM pickup to call me first, petty but maybe fair? My issues have already lost GM 2 sales from friends. One ride and that's it. Don't think it's the ring and pinion. My clunk gets worse after driving a while, maybe when warmed up. There must be lots of complaints because GM has refreshed the bulletin (aka excuse doc) on "Gearlash"

I know the low speed driving nightmare can be fixed with a correct update. This is not that hard. Still hoping.

new here hey everyone. 2014 silverado 1500 bought new 7/14. got around 9400 miles on my truck. everytime i cold start it blows puff of blue smoke. dealer told me to wait 10k miles so i am. also having same shifting issues as everyone else still. downshift from 3rd to second clunks into gear sometimes. also still searches for right gear while slow driving. when i stomp on accellerator it has a big delay before it engages. also very slugguish when accelerating uphill and on freeway. im really leaning towards a reprogram. have to take a trip to dealer soon and will bring all this up to them. i think alotof this has to do with the cylinder deactivation.ive been a chevy owner for years and never had this issue. if this truck wasnt under warranty i would probably trade in. it makes me not enjoy my purchase. i feel like something is going to break when i drive it. hopefully the dealer will do something.very aggravating to me.

Hi All,

F81, I agree. My 2014 1500 SLE has 25K and is horrible between the 18-28 MPH range. It's to the point that I need to put it into Manual and drive locally without 6th gear. when I went to my last oil change the dealership took care of a recall with the trans and now I have horrible gas mileage 13-14 mpg vs. 17-18 mpg I was getting.

Update

Took her to the dealer, tech drove my truck twice.. Nothing.. I asked a tech to test drive with me, they agreed and I was quite surprised.. Tech miraculously felt the lag in shifting and the slow downshifting but stated this was normal during break in periods.. And I should give it some more time as there are no ECM updates for my vehicle..

Got my complaint documented and they asked me to come back in at 700 miles if I notice the shifting problems persisting.. I'm at 315 miles right now.. So the normal dog and pony I am assuming..

I wanted to bring this post back up again. Back on page two I had posted about my wife's 2014 hunting for gears and hard shifting which it is still doing but I had to take my 2012 Chevy 3500 D/A in this morning for service and they gave me a 2015 1500 CC Z71 with the 5.3 and 3.42 gears as a loaner. It has 1900 miles on it. This truck shifts completely different than my wife's 2014. No hunting for gears, no hard shifts or clunking. While we dropped my truck off we had her oil changed and they checked and said there were no new updates available for her truck. So why would this new one shift like it should but updates for hers? I just don't get it. She drove this 2015 and noticed right off the bat it shifted better than hers. Now she wants to know why they can't fix hers.....
