2011 GMC 1500 - ignition key chipped?

I want to get a spare key cut for my 2011 GMC 1500. Are the keys chipped?

 

Be just under $40 at the dealer, my 04 keys were not that expensive.

Yes the chip is in the head of the key.

I bought extra keys from an ebay seller for my 2011. Key will have a + inside a circle stamped on it. Local hardware store cut both and they both programed to my truck. IIRCC about $13 for 2 keys.
