Finally Ran The 6.2 in the 1/4 Mile.......Impressed

Tonight I went to the local drag strip and decided to see what the ol 6.2 had in her and was pleasantly surprised. Ran 14.6 @ 93 mph with a crappy reaction time and a horrible 60ft. Pretty dang quick consider I have a 3" lift on 33" 10 ply tires and some heavy 20" rims.

Very nice. The 6.2 is a nice motor. Are you standard or short bed?

Standard. The only thing aftermarket is a k&n filter

where are you located? im assuming your DA was somewhere around sea level going by that time.

EDIT: your reaction time has no bearing on your final 1/4 time. Also a 2.0 is not a terrible 60' but yeah it could be better. Either way pretty damn good time for your truck and it's specs!

Not bad at ALL for a truck. You could SPANK some of yesterday's "high performance" cars. Vehicles keep getting faster.

Yeah, the reaction time is a personal deal. I live about 80 miles east of Houston, so yeah, pretty much at sea level. Temp was about 66 degrees last night with probably 50% humidity.

I was pleasantly surprised, launched in autotrac, but really didn't need to. This makes me want to tune it so bad.......

Mine in stock form ran 14.7 in the 1/4. She now runs In the high 12s, supercharged with headers.

I have the same truck and have not made it to the track. I was guessing it would 14.9 based on how it pulls. 14.6 or .7 is even better. I'll have to try to go in the next week or two now.

I stalled it up to about 1700-1800 rpm, put it in autotrac and let it rip.

I what a supercharger so bad, but I'm so skittish about the warranty.

Truck looks a littel weird with the front end higher than the read. Going to look really silly hooked up to a trailer or when there's weight in the bed.

Need to lift the rear a couple inches.
