Finally Ran The 6.2 in the 1/4 Mile.......Impressed

Truck looks a littel weird with the front end higher than the read. Going to look really silly hooked up to a trailer or when there's weight in the bed.

Need to lift the rear a couple inches.

Truck actually sits 1" higher in the back. It's just bad pic.

Yes I turned them both off. My first pass was 2 wheel drive, stabilitrac on, TC off and it ran a 14.8. Second pass, autotrac on and stabilitrac and traction control off and ran the 14.6.

Yeah, the reaction time is a personal deal. I live about 80 miles east of Houston, so yeah, pretty much at sea level. Temp was about 66 degrees last night with probably 50% humidity.

RPR?

On motor week yesterday they tested a navigator with 380 hp , it ran mid 14s in the 1/4. Just 10 years ago that's what the Z28 ran. The first nova ss I owned had 160HP, amazing times for car and truck enthusiast

Still seems a solid second slower than id have hoped.

Hell, my 2006 5.3,with just a 93 tune ran a 14.6.

Edit:

Sorry, just saw where you were on 33s.

Carry on.

Nah, actually going on almost 20 years and the F-bod cars are STILL faster than most "sports" or muscle cars out there - you know the '98 - '02 Z28/trans am/ws6 cars were good for high 12's @ 107-108mph right? They were/are faster than the newer camaros in a straight line race due to the significantly lighter weight and solid rear axle. No knock on the performance of the truck, just pointing out how damn quick those F-bod cars were (are). http://www.stangbangers.com/01_Bullitt_Article2.htmis just one example of many (scroll down).

The lift/tires are gonna kill you in the 1/4, I bet a stock tire/suspension truck w/ just a tune is capable of high 13's easily

The Z I was referring to was 20 years ago, when you get my age 10-20 years was a blip. As far as a stock 6.2 with 373 gears 13 1/4 mile should be common. I would expect a 5.3 on E 85, 373 Shouldn't be that far off running 6 speed trannys. People seem to lose their mind when that's said, they don't understand what adding gears in the trans is like adding Hp. It's had been a while but back in the 90s when I was using gear venders their formula was at 300HP when you added gear venders every extra gear was like adding 50 HP.

The Stock F body LS1's were quick no doubt ( had a 01 SS myself ) but with basic bolt ons , It would run about 110 in the quarter..but I mean are we really comparing a 3300 LB car vs a 5500+ lb truck ?

My basic bolt on 2008 Z06 can run neck and neck with my freind stock 2014 GT500 even though there is about a 150 HP difference. The 600-700 lb difference is huge

No, just in just a few years the performance level increase is amazing. Then you throw in the fuel millage.

Not comparing the cars to the truck, just noting that a near 20 year old Camaro/Firebird is actually quite a big faster than 14.6 in the 1/4 - significantly so.

And yeah weight is a HUGE factor, hence why I love my C5 Z so much - THE lightest vette out there, weighs under 3,000 lbs w/ 1/3 tank of gas.

Nice times. Get a tune, gears, and some e85. Should be good for low 14's

Pretty good time with the lift and tires! I see you have the max tow package.. did you bump the speed limiter crossing the traps? Mine seems to kick in at 92mph which sucks! Maybe you didn't cause of the taller tire and the speedo is off a hair.
