Finally Ran The 6.2 in the 1/4 Mile.......Impressed

Not comparing the cars to the truck, just noting that a near 20 year old Camaro/Firebird is actually quite a big faster than 14.6 in the 1/4 - significantly so.

And yeah weight is a HUGE factor, hence why I love my C5 Z so much - THE lightest vette out there, weighs under 3,000 lbs w/ 1/3 tank of gas.

A 94 Z28 advertised 1/4 mile time was 14.7, I had one along with a 94 Impala SS, had an advertised 1/4 mile time of 15 sec. My 06 Trailblazer SS had an advertised 1/4 time of 14 sec. I would say these big old heavy trucks move pretty good.

Yeah the C5Z's are bad ass. I had a 04 CE in which I loved , but had to have the C6Z.. The LS6 was/is a bad mother.

This is an interesting topic to me. I've had my 2015 6.2 for a couple of weeks now, and my seat of the pants impression is that my 2011 6.2 was quicker. I kinda miss it, but the 2015 is very nice.

Pretty good time with the lift and tires! I see you have the max tow package.. did you bump the speed limiter crossing the traps? Mine seems to kick in at 92mph which sucks! Maybe you didn't cause of the taller tire and the speedo is off a hair.

Nope, I didn't, but I have noticed that the few times I hit the speed limiter, it seems like it kicked in to soon. It almost seems like the speedometer isn't tracking correctly when it happens.

I haven't had my 15 silverado to the track yet, but with a dashhawk it ran 14.7's at 95 mph. That's with a std inTune tune. I was thinking your mph seemed quite low.

As far as a few years ago, my awd 07 Trailblazer SS ran low low 13's with a best of 13.08 with just a tune, intake, an ud pulley.

I was thinking of the 1998+ LS1 F-bod years (ALMOST 20 years old lol) - those were the factory freak cars and the ones people hit 12.9's in, completely stock, and not aberration, a fairly regular occurrence.

Your TBSS was actually a bit faster on a good day I would think,

I think the biggest trouble w/ the new trucks is all the electronic nannies...I don't think you can TRULY disable stabilitrak on the trucks nowadays, and I'm not even so sure about traction control, I feel like it kicks back on or will intervene over a certain MPH. That an the horrible tranny settings - remove all the torque mgmt, increase shift torque, raise the peak rpm shift levels, balance out the A/F ratio, and junk all the pulled timing (IN OTHER WORDS GET IT PROFESSIONALLY TUNED) - and I would bet a large sum a CC 6.2 8 speed would shave a full second off that time.

I almost pulled the trigger on an '07 C6Z w/ 45,000 miles for $36,000, instead I bought my '03 Z w/ 12,200 miles for $24,500 The immediate work required to "fool proof" the C6Z in terms of valve train/head work (I'm sure you're aware of the grenading engines) would have equated to another $1500-$2000+ in parts/labor. And while the C6Z is faster out the box, an extra $10,000+ in theoretical mod money, a bullet proof low mileage LS6, and the super light weight and unique look (the FRC body style) and I my mind was made up.

Both great cars either way.

Hmmm... Well it's annoying as hell when hammering down trying to pass. Lol I would love to have it raised by about 10 or 15mph. Will be doing some tuning eventually..

Yes I 100% agree.
