Gas milage

5.3 with 3.08 rear end and was lucky to get 15mpg all winter, then my last fill up they must be back to summer blend I can get 18.5 without trying.

I do about the same driving every week. One trip on the hwy to Houston about an hour to go 40 miles some heavy foot some stop and go. The rest light foot in town, a little over 200 miles a wk 5.3- 342 15 miles per gallon on E85.

I get 15-16 in the city and 21-22 on the hwy. My truck is in my sig.

I have a 2" level, no air dam, and 275-60-20 (little taller than stock) tires and I average 13 on my weekly commute. Granted I live 4 miles from home, the highest speed limit is 40 and there are 9 or 10 lights on the way. I have the 5.3 with 3.42's. I think its just the nature of the beast. Funny enough, if I drive in m5 and take 6th gear and AFM out of the equation I get better mileage.

City for mine is 12 to 16, depending on my mood and highway is 18 to 21, depending of traffic...lol. One thing I noticed yesterday on a 500 mile drive, the strong headwinds killed me and I averaged 17.5.

The real way to calculate how many mpgs you're getting is by fueling up all the way, reset trip. Run out of gas, fill up again and divide the miles on your trip by the gallons pumped. Never been over 20 mpg since I bought it. Now with a level and bigger tires I average around 15 no matter if freeway or stop and go.

That's good, but to be honest I find it hard to belive on such big trucks. That's easy 500miles to the tank.

It's surprising the difference in MPGs for the same trucks. Mine is leveled and I never noticed a difference in mpgs between leveled and not leveled, I still average between 18 and 19 mpg driving mostly on flat, rural state roads.

 

The noticeable difference for me is when they switch over to winter blend, then I see 4 - 8 mpg less immediately.

Ok that is very impressive , but how about actual highway speeds ? At that speed Big Rigs would be walking around me and telling me i'm #1.

 

I average around 20.1 @75-80mph or 21.2 @70-73mph for road trips between TX/OK. and currently have 18.2 for daily driving of mixed 60% city.

2015 leveled Crew 4x4, 5.3 with 3.42's

Anything is possible.. my best with my 6.2 crew cab standard bed 3:42 is 27.9. I live in central California and a/c is always on
