My review eagle eyes 2014/15 k2 headlights

I am trying to decide what to do with my 15 headlight wise.

I'd really like hid projectors, but I need good quality, these were a good compromise light, decent quality and factory look, without em.. I'm sort of back burner-ing the headlights.

I can totally understand GM copyright claiming a CLONE light though.

I had these replica's in for 2 months...until I was in a crash. Didn't have any issues in that time span. Had Morimoto HIDs in them and the protectors were actually pretty good, crisp cutoff. Body Shop went to get them and realized they are discontinued. They are installing Anzo's for me as replacements. We'll see how those are. Been looking around trying to find pics of Anzo's with HIDs in them cause I'm curious about quality and cutoff of the projectors.

I've had mine for about a year now, No major issues, other than the condensation in the driver side headlight after a month, but it was taken care of through warranty. Other than that no issues, Will actually be doing an FXR Projector retrofit here as soon as the weather warms up in NY.

Now I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to install mine or just get a set of Anzos. I really wanted the factory look of projectors. Just making me second guess things at the moment

If you have a set of the eagle eyes you could probably sell them right now for more than you paid.

(heck, I might even be interested.)

Lol well I'd have to get way more out of them then what I paid for them. Already have the headlight trim painted white.

So I haven't seen this kinda thing around the forums (I'm sure it's here SOMEWHERE but..) and I thought people might want to know about these, as I HAVE seen a lot of people ask about them.. so I figured I'd do a review.

I purchased my eagle eyes headlights from headlightsdepot.com for about $400 shipped. This is a LOT cheaper than stockers from GM, and even used stockers right now.

They arrived from FL in about 3 days and were undamaged. (shew.. I've seen some complaints online about dealing with headlightsdepot on returns, I dunno how founded they are, but I'd prefer not to find out.)

Eagle Eyes headlights are made in Taiwan. Upon first inspection, they have an apparent near-stock quality in build.

Wire harnesses are correct color and gauge, but are routed differently. The connectors for the bulbs are also of seemingly lower, but still functional quality.

The bulbs that come with these are Auto-lite. (no pic, I can't seem to take one thats not blurry.) They are the same size as stock bulbs, which are sylvanias. From looking at them side by side, the coil on the sylvanias has a higher gloss and seems to have coils closer together than the auto-lite bulbs. In my case, I moved my stock halogen bulbs over to the new lights to make the best of the light quality change.

As some of you probably know the GMCs have had a lot of complaints about light quality with the projectors, and this was something I was concerned about, so I figured using my stock bulbs would be the best way to compare apples to apples.

Fit and finish is... medium. Not stock, not near stock, but not "poor" either. In the case of the passenger side, I could NOT get this bolt to line up without applying a good deal of force to the housing.

I also had trouble with this sides connector that connects the harness to the headlamp. The pins in the headlamp harness actually pushed in and almost came out, and when I tried to correct it, the spacer tried to come out. At any rate, with a pair of needle nose and some grunts and muttered obscenities I managed to "rebuild" the connector and get the lamp to work.

(the wrinkles is a clear wrap on the lense, not damage or quality issues.)

The stock headlamp sits inboard of the fender a bit, this lamp, the same one that I couldn't mount properly sticks out a bit. I did not have any of these problems with the driver side, so I'd say this is probably a quality control problem at Eagle Eye.

They work! Light quality in the garage side by side with the open housing (no pic again, sorry) appears to be the same. I'm gonna wait till the sun goes down tonight and take a drive to confirm this.

All in all, if you're doing an hid project or something, or want a pair of headlights that have the stock upper trim look without the bucks, and you're not willing to deal hunt and save your pennies a bit more for OEM, they're worth it.

However.. my personal preference is that if I were to do it again, I'd wait, save my pennies, and buy stock headlights, be it off ebay or a user here, or even paying through the nose for a set from GM.

are you talking about these headlights?
