Compact Revolvers

I'm Looking at compact revolvers for myself and the wife. Both conceal carry,Me in my front pocket and she in her purse. 38 special her and .357 for me. My dad carries the S&W 38special with +p rounds hammerless Airweight and it shoots nice but I like the Ruger LCR size and light weight but have never fired one. Can someone comment on these hand gun's

Well the wheel guns are the most reliable guns. Fails to fire, just pull the trigger again. No racking of slide, no stove pipe, no failure to load etc...SW 642 is nice and the ruger lcr.

38 +P is about all you will want to practice with. 357 is too much for me to practice with in either gun. And one should carry what one practices with. Either gun is OK and shoot well. Trigger on both could use some work.

Those Ruger LCR's pack a punch. The composite material is very light and they are snappy little guns. The only negative with the revolver is that your ammunition capacity is very limited. Once the cylinder is empty, that's all you have (unless carrying speed loaders on her belt). You may want to take a look at many of the .380 and 9mm pistols. The are quite small and have a greater round capacity.

You may want to have a discussion with you wife about carrying inside of a close purse. If the need ever comes, it's going to be very difficult for her to draw properly from inside of a purse. There are several holsters that make carrying on one's person extremely comfortable. It's nice to hear she is into firearms and carries a life saving tool with her but the purse option is not really practical. If that is her only option, be sure she practices regularly at the range drawing and firing from a full purse, identical to how she would carry it while shopping.

These purse carries have me concerned as of late. It is going to be really hard to get into the purse and retrieve the defense weapon easily. I would see if you can get her to try an IWB holster. I have also heard several stories of the purse being left in a shopping cart or otherwise unattended. It makes a possibility for a really bad accident especially with revolvers. All that needs to happen is the trigger pull.

I love my S&W 38 special+p , I carry this one in my front pocket when I don't want to carry my Glock on my side or my clothing makes it hard for concealment.

And for my "TRUCK" gun I have my PAP M92 AK 47 10 inch pistol. 7.62x39 , This thing is a flame thrower!

Look for a Taurus total titanium .357 snub nose revolver. Very light. I have a .45 colt and a .44 special version and will be picking up the rest of the set for calibers.
