Am I getting a good deal?

So for 3 years you give them like $20,000. Then you can get a different one? I couldn't do for i put 30,000 miles a year... i really dont get it.. if your going to drive it less then 36,000 miles n 3 years. To me sounds like buying it in the first place and selling makes a little more sense. But idk. I pay 700 month. I have always wondered what the pay of would be at the end of a lease.. but 4 me i couldn't keep the miles that low...

Wait and get what you really want.

If you are second guessing now, you will probably not be satisfied if you lease this truck and will probably trade it in for a 6.2 down the road. This has happened many times before on this forum. People buy what is available, or a good deal but aren't satisfied in the end. Of course there are a few some exceptions to this.

Test drive a 5.3 and 6.2 back to back and ask yourself which one you will be most happy in for the next few years.

Happy Test Driving.

I hate going back on my word. That's my main issue. If I tell someone I'm going to do something and shake their hand, 99.99% of the time I follow through. The 5.3 felt adequate but I think having the cooled seats in the SLT will just be a better perk. Maybe I should just get the one I chose and upgrade to a Denali when I trade my lease in early. It'll give me something to look forward to.

Wow, there are only 4 6.2 double cabs in a 50 mile radius of me. This is disappointing that they are this uncommon. If there wasn't big difference between the 2 motors, then I would not be making such a big deal about this.

Do the cooled seats actually work? They seem like a gimmick. I've never been in a vehicle with them but from what I heard, it's just fans that blow air through the seats.

The cooled seats work. I have them, but I don't like the feel of them. It chills my spine, feels weird, so I don't use them. Other people like them so that's just my personal preference. They do work!

They are not "cooled" they are vented and they do work great. I have mine on all the time, even in with the heat on in the car they help your back and crack from getting sweaty. Love them in the summer and when the cab is cold from the ac the seats get pretty cool. I would look into leasing myself if I had better credit.

I wouldn't settle, trucks/cars everything is getting so expensive

Did you work a price first as if you were going to buy it and then tell them you wanted to lease or did you just talk monthly payments with them? If the first, what was the sales price as opposed to MSRP? I ask this because the MSRP on my truck was over 52k but I bought it for just under 43k. If I was going to lease I would be using that 43k as the starting point for the lease not the 52k....

In my opinion (I have never leased) but it sounds like you are getting hosed.... However, I have said it in the past and I will say it again, DO NOT SETTLE!!!!! that is so important when buying a vehicle. Obviously money is a huge factor however, if you can wiggle you way into the vehicle of your "dreams" (relatively speaking) then that is what you need to do. if you want a 6.2 then do not get the 5.3 as others have said you will regret that decision and prob trade in your lease early.

Also do not feel pressured into buying a vehicle. you owe nothing to that salesman, remember he is trying to make take a buck from you. you tell him what you want and what you want to pay and go from there. obviously if you say you want a SLT with all the bells and whistles and only want to pay 200 a month then that wont work. but if you want the SLT with 6.2 and want to pay 470 a month then that is your target. my uncle who is a used to sell new cars said never tell a salesman what you want to pay a month because they will prob meet that requirement and then you will end up paying a lot more in the long run. you want to tell him the least amount of information as you can i.e. don't tell him "yeah my lease is up in 10 days and I need a car" because now he knows that you "have" to get a new car by this date so he can now get a higher price out of you. you are always just looking, thinking, browsing, considering getting a new car. never go to the dealership and tell them that you are going to buy a car.

also shop around, when I bought my truck I went to about 4 - 5 different dealers before I found a salesmen that didn't bull shit me. I told him what I wanted (just like a told the other salesmen) he wrote it up gave me the lowest price, I haggled for a day or two with him and then put a deposit down to order my truck. I feel like I got a pretty good deal and I plan on going back to him in like 5 years...

good luck on your purchase and in my opinion you prob should not get the 5.3 because you will have almost instant buyers remorse.

I don't know if incentives are different for buying vs leasing, I'd assume they are. My 15 SLT had an msrp of just over 55, I got it for just under 43 before TTL. As others stated, I wouldn't settle regardless if its buying or leasing. That's like buying a shirt a size too big and in a different color just because they are sold out of the color and size you want. But you really need a new shirt, so you decide you can still fit the larger shirt in a different color and buy it. Every time you wear it you feel uncomfortable, and eventually you don't wear it anymore unless all the other laundry is dirty, because it's the wrong size and not what you wanted. Then you go back to shopping for a new shirt..

hmmm I don't think so. It would have to assume he's working off the msrp. good catch. I wonder if the incentives are different for the SLE vs SLT. I'm going back today to figure it out. I called him and he said there are absolutely no SLT 6.2 to be found. The only option for the 6.2 is to buy a denali and I do not want that since I prefer a double cab.

Whitestallion gave you some good advice, yes never say you want to be at 450 because they can discount the truck andake the deal look great but add interest and whatever just to make it seem good while they laugh all the way to the bank. Know the residual and MF upfront that way you know if they are jacking it on you, and always negotiate your cap cost and get a printout of all the numbers.

Also don't expect to get as much off as you would in a purchase, less rebates apply to leasing, but the bank helps make up for this in supported money factor. That way if you do plan on buying the truck after your lease, you have realistic residual and you paid hardly any APR or Rent fee.

Do your research and go in informed and get what you want otherwise you will feel hosed out of what you should have got.

I'm leasing my '15 Silverado LTZ that stickered for approx $50,500 for $363/month for 39 months, 15,000 miles a year, $2000 total down. That is with employee discount.

My truck is a 5.3, and it runs decent for what it is, esp after a std inTune tune. For me it wasn't worth the wait (back from Dec. when 6.2's weren't available). I've had fast cars and suv's, and my 5.3 truck to me is a little slow, and the 6.2 just isn't quite as slow, neither are fast, esp by todays standards.

These truck seats are cooled, air conditioned. There are some other vehicles that have ventilated seats, but the 14/15 Silverado seats are actually cooled. And, it's a great option in my opinion, along with the heated steering wheel.

I'm not an expert but pretty sure this is wrong, they cooled meaning they have fans in the seat and has nothing to do with the air conditioning. I believe the escalade has actually cooled seats.

I have my seats on with the heat in the truck, it is just a fan and you can even hear it out the back of the seat

These seats are cooled, not just vented. It even has a/c on the seat cooler button. There is a fan also, but thats for adjusting how cool you want the seat.

Well I did end up with the 5.3 The payments would be 150+ for the SLT. The best deals was for the SLE so the payments are actually 418 before all the taxes but it comes out to 450. They came off 5k off list of the 5.3 Overall, i'm happy but I'm looking forward to getting the 6.2 in 2 years when I trade this truck in. This truck is very well equipped none the less. I'll post pics of the window sticker later
