"peek in" recall

I dropped off my Sierra for an inoperable power lumbar (second time) and was advised of the peek in recall which I declined. My question.........is it absolutely positively necessary that it needs to be done? I'm not having any issues and I don't want to fix what isn't broken......your opinions appreciated.

Same here that's one I keep declining, it's not broke leave it is what I tell them.

Absolutely positively not! Odometer may read incorrectly when just opening the door.

dont have it done, i know i am not the only person to mention it but my gas mileage change when they did it. it is 1 or 2 mpg lower then it was before the peek in according to the DIC. Now, it may just have corrected that to what the truck actually gets, im not sure i have not done a hand calc but i do know by best 25 before the recall was 26.4 (long flat highway run) and my best 25 since the recall (all of 8 months now) is 24.2 along the same route

I had this recall done months ago. No issues at all. Just make sure it's a reputable dealer that you're using.

I had mine done, no issues. It corrects the mileage in the IPC between when the door is open versus what the cluster actually shows. Only thing is the tech has to make sure to flash the correct update for either a Chevy or Sierra truck.
