If you don't have money, is putting 50% down on a truck a wise move? I'm not gonna pretend, I traded my denali in. I paid 50k for it, and I was paying 1200 a month to pay it off early, but I just realized how stupid it was to pay for something that loses value. I have enough money it wouldn't hurt me, including an emergency fund. It still didn't make sense. I'm driving a 2001 now.

Yes, I sold my old truck and put the money toward a new one. I do have money, I just don't like having high payments. Also I don't find paying off a truck early is stupid, either way you have to pay for it. So why owe more on it than its worth?

Anyways! I hope OP has figured out his situation, and I still recommend that he tries to sell his truck and then use that money to pay off his old one and put a down payment on a new one. Also you will usually have a bit more leverage for getting the price of a vehicle down if you put a down payment on it.

And.....in a few weeks we will know if there are any changes to the 2016's worth waiting a few months. Mid cycle refresh will tweak headlight/tail lights and should bring improvement to the smart phone integration, maybe Android Auto/Car Play.

I got 45k for my trade in, and GMC posted it today for 49,625. lol
