gm borla exhaust

I have the a GM Borla exhaust.....perfect sound! Not too loud, just right. Only gripe is that it's hard to get both pipes to match where they exit. One side was 1 inch higher. We adjusted and move the clamps around with no luck. We had to bend the pipe down an inch. I also purchased the Borla chrome tips.

I agree, I wish there was some adjustability with the exit, I don't like how they hang a couple inches down from the bumper. I want them more flush.. I'll come up with a solution lol

Crawl back under the truck and be patient. Loosen the clamps and start twisting the pass side pipes. You can get it within 1" of the bumper. Then do the dr side, cause it'll move more. I would prefer less bumper to tip clearance, but I was able to get the tip right at 7/8" on both sides, being patient.

I do not hear or feel any drone at any speed (6.2 ltr). Can't tell a difference in tone in V4 mode either. It is a tad louder than I was expecting, but not juvenile delinquent loud. Just right. (I cannot stand loud exhaust on stock vehicle's).

So does this borla system really eliminate the "drone" noise that other aftermarket systems have when in V4 mode? Seems that would be worth the premium this set has compared to the others I've priced.

I have never heard a truck drone in V4 but I see a lot of people on here concerned over this. I run and AFE cat back and have no drone and know of a guy that has the Flowmaster Outlaw and has no drone.

I bought the " s type " from borla. .. so not the GM version

you can definitely hear the change when it switches from 8 to 4. Not bad though and definitely not an annoying drone by any means. Just noticeable. At highway speeds my music drowns out any other noise anyhow

well it's on!! have to say i love how it sounds. it's a deeper sound than the corsa i had on my old ride. i do notice it a little when it goes into v4. nothing overly annoying, just notice it. does anyone else?? when i did the exhaust, i also put in a k&n air filter. i did disconnect the battery before doing this. when i test drove the truck i was hammer down every chance i could, hoping trans re-learns? you can definitely hear/feel the trans shifting now with this exhaust. really looking forward to see how loud it is when I'm pulling the trailer. thank you all again for your help.

Just finished my install, all went well until the end

Can't seem to figure out how to adjust the tips so they are level with the ground and not leaning toward the rear

I have the dual tips out the passenger side. The shop that installed mine got the muffler level and then twisted the pipes separately to get them level. And then adjusted the tips the way I like them. This was all done while on the lift. They may have also moved the muffler slightly. Start by loosening the pipes aft of the muffler and twisting slightly. I hope that helps.

I would suggest having someone hold the tip in the place you want them and then tigthen them down. That's what I did.

Anyone with the GM Borla in Colorado, I'd buy you a 12 pack of your choice if you would meet me and let me hear your exhaust.

I was considering the Borla due to the factory backed design with the flapper but opted to go with the Corsa Sport exhaust - dual tips out the side. Also went with the Volant cold Air Intake (sister company to Corsa).

I installed the Volant CAI first as it came in two days before the exhaust - too loud under the hood in my opinion - big growl with the slightest increase in throttle. Figured what the heck - lets see how it sounds with the Corsa Exhaust...

Exhaust comes in and I get it installed in my driveway - fire it up and it sounds like the Compuware Corvette that runs the Petit Le Mans!!! Run it out and it is bad ass - after running it for a couple weeks I determined that the Volant had to go. When cruising at speed any touch of the accelerator would create the annoying growl under the hood.

Took the CAI off went back to factory to see how it sounds with just the Corsa exhaust - much better.

Have been running it a week now - love the sound but is could use the flapper. I don't think it is just going from V8 to V4 - it seems to be more about lower speeds/rpms when it "drones" No drone at highway speeds - just in lower speeds at a specific RPM.

Not sure if I am going to keep it or go back to stock.

Had a work associate ride with me on a two hour trip and his comments were - "I don't get it. You buy the upscale Denali which is a smooth quiet ride and you just made it loud .. I just don't get it. go back to stock".

I can understand his opinion - however he doesn't get the smile I get when I put my foot in it and go through the gears while that 6.2 roars!!!

Video of initial start up and idle to follow ...
