Leveling kit advice please

Thanks, I figured I was pushing it, but it was worth asking. I'll stick with the 275/60/20 since I know that'll fit.

There are a few on here with a 275/65r20 and a level. If you do a quick search you'll probably be able to locate those members info rather easily. Can't remember if they all have the 2.5" but worth a look.

He doesn't want to use a level kit, he wants to level his truck via shocks. Which is a good way to keep stress of ball joints and control arms

I personally have the RC 2.5" level kit running 275/65/20 Toyo MTs. Which is a cheap route to go. Level kit $149 plus a $200 to install. Plus $80 for front end alignment.

To replace shocks, you will have $1100 in parts, $300 to install, and would recommend a front end alignment as well.

So I took the cheaper route, and will save for the Fox shocks that I want.

If you want to run a bigger tire, you can start with the 2.5 level kit and could use the .5" top spacer when you put your new Fox shocks on.

If he waits he can get 6112's which are arguably better than fox coil overs for $800. Also rancho quicklifts and bilstein 5100's are around $250. 2.5" leveling kit puts a lot of stress on the ball joints when topping out, you'll be maxing out the ball joint angle. I know from experience that the ball joints do not last long on these trucks. I just replaced by my lowers after 80,000km/49,000miles. 75,000 of those km's were at stock height.

I'm not waiting for the 6112's haha. I'm just waiting on the quote from the retailer I chose. As soon as we agree on a price I'm pulling the trigger on them; Fox's at all 4 corners

I also think it's smarter for me to stick with the 275/60/20 since everything bigger than that appears to be a 10-ply load E, which might be a bit stiff for someone like me who stays on pavement almost all of the time.

So, just an update:

Tires have arrived (275/60/20 BFG KO2's)

Front coilovers and rear shocks have shipped and will be here on monday the 17th

I ordered BORA 1.5" wheel spacers today. I paid the extra for 2nd day air shipping so he assured me they'd be here by wednesday the 19th.

Thursday the 20th I'm dropping the truck off, and it'll be ready for me to pick up on Friday the 21st.

In addition to installing everything, they're doing a Dyno tune

He dumped them for the Bilsteins. Really, if ones truck will not see anything beyond dirt roads and one wants to just level the front, the Bils are fine.

I've been told by an online vendor and a local shop that the Bilstein 5100 are on national back order. So, after talking to a shop who has experience with both and an online vendor I took the plunge for the Fox 2.0 Coilover. Two similar remarks made by both contacts convinced me for my purpose, (level) will work the same or a little better than the Bilsteins considering the following. The max tow package, stiffer rear springs providing a harsher ride ( which I don't have ) and guys cranking up the coil overs to get the most lift causes a harsher ride. With that said, sometime within the next two weeks (holiday permitting) I should have the Fox 2.0 Coilover installed. I'll give my impression after the install.
