Not in the least.

My "slug" ran a 14.6 @ 94 mph on some heavy tires and wheels and the truck was bone stock. What other truck is that quick and can 18-20 mpg. Not trying to start a argument, but I've driven the ecoboost, 5.7 tundras, and hemi Rams. The only one that came close in power was the tundra, but it came at the price of crappy fuel mileage.

14.6 at a perfect sea level track in Houston..... thus low 15s anywhere else on the planet, namely up here like a lot of other new trucks.

Here's my question for you. Why do you care about the fact I think they are a slug? If you like your truck and think it's the fastest thing out there, awesome. The reason I say this because it would not matter what I answered back to you I am already wrong... so what's the point lol. I drive a John Deere garden tractor... it's a monster in the quarter mile and cuts grass to boot!

I don't like them and don't find them fast... sorry.

Well said! I owned a tundra and would pass almost everything but a gas station. It's still hard to believe the power of these truck along with the fuel mileage. I've smiled numerous times thus far.

Like you said, fast is relative, but this is a forum correct? So thats what it's for, to talk about trucks and give your opinion. I doubt he actually cares that YOU think it's a slug. But most people probably wouldn't consider it a slug as far as trucks go. But hey, it's all relative.

Aww I see, you're just trolling trying to stir the pot. Fact of the matter is, it is the fastest factory truck out there. So exactly what do you drive then that far superior than the ol 6.2 slug? And yes I could care less if he thinks it's a slug, I was simply curious because he made a pretty bold statement about the most powerful gas motor available in light trucks.

Not trolling.... that's exactly what your post above is. I am just stating an opinion on an open forum. And as such what I drive is none of your damn business! Why? Like I said what does it really matter... you are confident I am wrong long before I ever write an answer thud wasting my time. I have owned and drove every manufacturers truck now at this point. I drove a bunch back to back including a 6.2 max trailer gm and it was less than impressive. Dunno what else to say.

LOL, exactly, trolling. Probably because you drive some prehistoric piece of shit. Come on now, name a faster current production gasoline factory truck.....That's right, you can't. Why, because there isn't one. So once again, to justify your statement, what do you drive, and what do you feel is a more powerful, stronger, better motor/truck combo?? I truly am interested. I simply asked a question to you, and you got defensive quick. Butthurt much??

Yep sure bud.... if you want a troll go look in a mirror. You are the exact reason why stating an opposing opinion is a waste of a persons time. You start replying like a child having a temper tantrum immediately because you can't be beaten, you can't vr wrong. You are the fastest! My oldest ride is an 05, 2 2013's and a 2015. Pretty prehistoric indeed. I would love to say line them up so I could prove how wrong you are but it's always got to be a guy that lives in the southern most point of another country that has a problem. But hey... enjoy your truck!

And don't forget I'm your next reply to reiterate how much of a troll I am and that I must be broke and drive old piles of garbage to read enforce your statement.

Your blanketed statements speak volumes, I simply asked what you feel is a better truck/motor combo. You have yet to answer. I believe you also first cursed were condescending to me for asking a simple question that once again, you won't answer. Why are you on a GM Trucks website running your mouth and obviously trying to get a rise out of people? I've backed my statements with facts, you've yet to offer anything of the such.

To add a different take, I have had 3 different 5.3, 3.42 trucks in 3 years, and I think they are plenty fast. Mainly I want my truck to jump off the line, like crossing a busy road, and my 5.3 really does that well. Any more pick-up and the TCS will negate it anyway.

Pretty simple bud. I own GM trucks too.. just not brand loyal and think they are some rocket sled. Anyone else could ask me and I would answer but you in particular would just have a mental meltdown about it and tell me i am wrong.... which you have demonstrated... so consider it a favour. Have a good day.

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    • No one will care for you like you care for you. Do what you can for as long as you can. IMHO of course.

    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
