At the end we're the ones asking for it.

Nowadays we have to be able to start the car via cell phone while sitting in an airplane.

I have predicted such possibility of breaking into OnStar over 10 years ago.

OnStar emailed me last week and already updated my iPhone app...

Maybe I wasn't clear, they already released the IOS updated version and I downloaded it automatically. All set for this one...

The way I read it (different article possibly) it sounded to me like you had to be on an unsecured WiFi network when using the app in order to be vulnerable.

Yep. Be careful of the wifi hotspots you login into. Don't log into "free wifi" sites.

Also, I'll add the android sever software has already been fixed to stop this (Android users). Last I heard they are working on an IOS fix that will require you to download an updated to the RemoteLink app from the apple store.

As I said above...IOS already updated. And downloaded to my iPhone.

You wouldn't use a App on a desktop. You would just go to the onstar web sight and see way more information.

Oh. Never thought of that so can't say for sure.

But wait wouldn't you just use your key fob then? I only use my app when I'm far from the truck and it is really icy out. Other wise I use my key fob
