Hacking the GM OnStar remote app

Oh. Never thought of that so can't say for sure.

But wait wouldn't you just use your key fob then? I only use my app when I'm far from the truck and it is really icy out. Other wise I use my key fob

 

Need to use it when I'm at work with no phone and no visability of my truck. The app on a pc would be perfect.

No, there is no OnStar app for the desktop pc...cannot use remote start app from a PC.

At the end we're the ones asking for it.

Nowadays we have to be able to start the car via cell phone while sitting in an airplane.

2. It takes all of the 20 mins and them some to defrost 10 inches of windshield,

Unfortunate onstar will not be updating the app for IOS 6 for the Iphone3gs.

 

Looks like I am cancelling it since its useless now to me.

No upgrade cause that's a dinosaur phone. You could always upgrade that commodore 64 you use as a phone ?

Guys. The hacker is flawed to some degree. This whole "hack" is hinged on you logging into his wifi!!! I only use WIFI at my house.

Well once my free 5 year subscription is over on remote start, I plan to disconnect the onstar device. I don't want it or need it in the truck. This just gives me more the reason to do it.

If you have an android phone you can download Tasker and create a task that opens up Onstar app and clicks on start truck or whatever you want. And have it it execute that when it receives a certain text or email from a certain email address.

That phone is over six years old, in the software world that means it's obsolete. You'll have to upgrade, and will be glad you did. New 5" + high res screens are much nicer to use than the old 3.5" micro screens.

Ok. I will upgrade to an Amiga. Reality is that the Iphone 6 and even the 5s is just too big for my short fat stubby fingers to grasp in one hand. I could probably find a 4s cheap or even free.

 

Oh I see a Coleco in my future.
