Yearly Mileage

This may have been covered before, but my search kung foo is lacking this morning. How many miles are y'all putting on your truck in a year? I've owned mine for just shy of a year and have put ~25,000 miles on it.

 

As an aside we sold my wife's Toyota Sienna last year after she put 53,000 miles on it in less than a year. We sold it because she wanted to get into something different, but still seems like a lot of miles in a short period of time for a privately owned vehicle.

I usually put on around 4k miles or so in a year but put on 6.5k miles since the truck was new and I wanted to drive it more. I have a company truck, a couple of motorcycles and a SUV for family trips so my truck usually just gets driven on Saturdays.

I bought my truck just after thanksgiving in 2013. I have 37,5xx miles on it right now. I drive it everyday, round trip to work is about ~40 miles. Anytime me and the wife go out we take my truck and I tend to go out of town a decent amount of times during hunting season so the miles rack up real fast. I am not too worried about it though, truck runs great and I maintain the crap out of it!

jeez, where the hell is your wife driving. 53000 miles is on average 145 miles a day!

 

I personally probably drive between 12000 and 15000 miles per year.

Sometimes for work I have commute a total of 125 miles a day..I put almost 40k on my old Silverado in one year. It sucks, but its far better to be employed then not.

Now that I have a truck that is comfy for the whole family, I drive it 9-10k miles per year. My old ext cab got griven about 5k miles a year. Makes a difference when you have a nice, roomy truck to go places on.

I just crossed 23k and I've owned it for 8 months. You're wife is putting on a lot of miles! My dad put 60k on his truck in one year one time but he uses it for business and pleasure

I've 48,500. Had it for 15 months. 4 me i say 33xxx a year. O not any problems as well. Love driving it.

Funny, I'm about the same. Used to average 7-8k miles per year as my SUV was basically our third vehicle but now that we have room for everyone, the truck is comfy and we go camping more, I'll be around 10-11k miles on the truck.

10-20k per year depending on how many hunting trips I can afford. I usually ride the motorcycle to work, but it's been so damned hot the past month that I haven't ridden much just because I'd have to shower once I got to work and there usually isn't enough time at the beginning of the shift.

One of these years I'm going to be able have a fun vehicle (no motorcycles) - maybe an older beater jeep for summer running.

Since we sold the Sienna my truck seems to be go to vehicle for out of town travel these days, we've been using the heck out of it and it is my daily driver.

She was trying to do an occupational therapy masters out of Atlanta. As a result she was spending abut half the week out of town. Between that, the fact that we live in a rural area and were using her Sienna to haul the family for trips she racked up the miles. Thankfully she switched programs given that she is driving a gas guzzling 2000 Land Rover Discovery (her dream vehicle)
