Maybe im alone here but I wish chevy would bring back ext cab just think it looks a lot better than double cab. Im assuming chances of it ever returning are slim to none. Are double cabs selling well?

I think the double cabs sell quite well. Probably more than the crews because of the price point and discounts they offer. I never minded the DC doors myself, but agree I think the extended cab does look a little better.

Extended still looks sportier than the crew. And it's nice on the double cab to not have to open the front doors to pen the rear

I preferred the extended cab as well. Sure, it's inconvenient to open the fronts first, but then the rears opened so much wider.

I worked out of an EC for years and can tell you it was so much nicer when you have your tools in the floor right behind your seat and stuff to be able to just open that door up. It also helped to serve as a wind break in the winters having the two doors surround you like that.

I had a 2001 extended cab. Size wise, double is the same, and I personally am MUCH happier with the doors opening like they do now.

I thought they could have been more unique by keeping the suicide opening, but still have the doors independent with the pillar in the middle like they are now. Maybe conceal the outside door handle a little or something so there are not two large handles next to one another. But as short as the db cab doors are, most any one would still be able to open or close from the inside the same as current.

The double cab structure is stronger and actually has more foot swing room. It's been really well received and works great for family who no longer have kids in car seats as an affordable option. It's cut down a lot on rattles and transmitted noise/vibration. As a dealer, we sell a lot more double cabs than anything else.

I liked the extended cab opening size, but I don't think you will ever see it again due to crash regulations.

Problem I have with double cab is that you can't get highest trim levels with it.

You can get the LTZ in the double cab.

I think he meant High Country or Denali.

Both Chevrolet & GMC dealerships stock 90% (or so it seems here in central IL) of LT/SLE double cabs around here with the rare LTZ/SLT. While they carry a good mix from mid range to loaded of crew cabs ready to go.

Personally have no use for cc. Would love to see a HC or Denali double cab hit the lots.

Correct, the HC and Denali

I don't have any use for a crew truck either, I would purchase a HC or Denali if it were available.

Had a 2012 ext. cab. Could not stand the body/door flex and overall noise with the ext. cab. Double cab all the way.
