I have the worst FM radio reception of any vehicle I have ever owned. Pay 50K for a POS. I've been to the dealer three times and the last time they replaced the radio. Guess what, STILL CRAP ! I had a 2008 Silverado and have a 2010 Equinox, both had and have excellent reception. I go to the same locations with my NEW TRUCK and get no reception. I'm in my 50s and have always been a GM guy. After this I'm leaning toward a Ford next time. GM, fix YOUR PROBLEM !! Made in the USA. HA ! Long way from PROFESSIONAL GRADE.

They are just missing the problem ,haven't really looked or don't know what they are doing. My poor Dad wasted $700 taking his 1985 Crown Victoria to dealers for a vacuum leak they couldn't find. A retired Plant Maint. Mech found a faulty two inch vacuum hose within an hour. I haul Intermodal containers full of parts made and shipped from Mexico, China , Korea. They all are assembled into your proudly made in the USA vehicles, including Ford

GM is very well aware of the issue and is almost finished with a firmware/software update that should finally fix the issue.

I have the same problem but I am waiting for TJay to hear of a final fix before I take mine to the dealer for the crappy FM reception.

Thanks for being a contributing member of the forum. I see all the time spent here has done wonders for your search ability.

All this over radio reception, I don't know whether to laugh or cry (maybe both?). Radio reception sure does play a big part in the performance and durability of the drivetrain, what a POS truck. I guess enjoy your Ford turbo motors? I really hope their FM radio reception works for you!

The horrible radio reception is an annoyance. I listen to radio thru my phone or XM. But when I want to listen to local radio it sounds like crap. I am annoyed at the fact of having to take my 50k truck for this issue. That's why I haven't brought it in to the dealer. By far it's the worst radio reception of the GM vehicles I've owned. I hope an upgrade will fix the issue. I rather have bad radio reception then junk ford motors.

I have really awful reception with XM. My car never has issues unless I go under bridges but my truck loses reception in the city. I'm not certain a software update is going to fix that.

My radio works great with XM or FM. Both sound very good and the reception seems to be a little better than my past 2 Tahoes. Example, while in the Keys this summer I could listen to a couple of local channels all the time as with my Tahoes I could pick them up sometimes. This is from 120+ miles away. The only time XM goes out is when the sky is blocked which is to be expected.

I have a 6" antenna and still recieve all the radio channels in my area. Only lost ones that were basically pure interference noise. Not quite sure how these trucks radios reception sucks.

I think xm radio may be behind this! If your FM reception is terrible, how many owners will start paying for xm? Just a thought....

I agree with everybody on the FM radio reception. I am also "old"...almost 60. Just sayin' because I have owned MANY vehicles and this is by far. the worst radio I have ever, EVER owned!!! Not only the reception, that touch screen radio is awful too. It doesn't work with dry rough hands. All the features and ideas of it is awful but my biggest concern is the reception. Is it a computer issue? Can a booster be put on? It's an expensive nice looking vehicle, with a worse than crappy radio. How could they let this off the line??? Help!

    • Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving
    • Yes, and only a couple years before delivery. 🙄
    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
