'15 Silverado 1500 struggles to turn after beach drive

I recently drove on the beach and noticed after coming off that the vehicle didn't want to make a sharp turn. I would have to apply lots of throttle to keep even minimal speed going through any turn, forward or reverse. Went to the car wash and gave it a good underbody spray and the problem cleared up.

Any ideas what might have gotten jammed up I assume with sand to cause the turning issue I mention?

Thank you!

Or was stuck in 4WD. Do the newer trucks still use the wheel sensor to determine wheel slippage? If he was in auto 4wd, and sand was in the grooves of the sensor it could have interpreted that as slippage and kept in 4wd until he sprayed it off...?

No, because auto mode doesn't lock the t case into a 50/50 split. You would feel very little difference.

Could be the posi locking and sticking. I have had my posi lock up a couple times when the back wheels lost traction where it did not release for a few miles. Not good I know but the dealer gave me the good old could not replicate and did not find anything when I took it in. At least it is on record now. Ammo for any issues I might have with it in the future.

I think the automatic differential locker was having a hard time disengaging.
