hey guys I have a 2014 silverado ltz z71. it has 14,000 KMS on it, I purchased it in march. I've noticed 2-3 good size chips on the drivers door, 2 on the passenger door, and 1 behind the back wheel ironically on the rock guard. I do have all terrain tires but the truck is a pavement princess because the "new" to me hasnt been worn off yet and hunting season just started yesterday. long story short I took it to the dealer for pic and they called me today and said "rock chips, bigger tires, nothing we can do" meanwhile I know of these dealers and they are one of them that install lifts and 35s. if i bought one of them trucks and payed out the ass for them to lift it would I have "special Warrenty" and anyways theyre responce was basically tough luck. yay to me 53,000 dollar truck that is my pride and joy. I traded my 2010 because of paint issues. am I swimming alone here? anyone in the same boat? I called GM customer car and opened a claim. I hope they can help

Yes it does chip that easily. I was washing my truck this past weekend and noticed quite a few chips in the paint that I didn't see before. One of them was high up near the tail light which I have no idea how a rock chipped it there unless another car on the road kicked the stone up into the truck. The paint on these things is pure garbage....even more reason to own an aluminum truck that won't rust.

They oiled & rocked all of our local roads this past summer. My truck(a 2013) now has chips down the driver side from oncoming traffic & has nothing to do with how slow I drove.

Think some of those a-holes drove their jalopies faster knowing they were going to throw rocks.

That said, I bet larger tires throw up tons of small pebbles/rocks that sit on top of the pavement. As well I do auto transport, a good mix of new & used. On the used side, I do not notice more chips on GM

paint vs Ford/Ram trucks when doing inspections. Think it is just getting the paint watered down enough for EPA regs.

that sucks lol thats going to be my argument if the dealer wont fix it. any Ram dealers close? lol

No chips here. My last truck didn't have any chips on the body, it had a few small ones on the front bumper and hood from rocks hitting it. I should probably have clear bra installed before it does get chipped, but I haven't had time.

yes it sucks. My trucks the same color, and it seems the metallic colors are worse. They repainted the passenger side of my truck under warranty, i should have fought to get the whole truck done. There is a service bulletin out, PIT5313. Ask the dealer to look it up. I absolutely love my truck, but the paint is so awful, i've thought about trading it multiple times.

7 chips total in 900 miles. I needled all the chips and went and paid to have xpel ultimate installed. No more chips :)
