Sorry to hear they only brought one. Reminds me of when I ordered my rims, so excited when I came home, only to find out company sent me the wrong ones, took two weeks to get the right ones.

Yea man, i had my whole afternoon planned out to dothe install. Took off work early and everything. Bad thing is, its supposed to rain here for the next few days straight. It took everything in my power to not go ahead and install just the one to see how its fitment and performance is too lol!

Btw, i also ordered the opt7 kit you suggested. It came in yesterday and just for $hits and giggles, i went ahead and installed these in my oem reflectors just to test them out and they worked fine until this afternoon when one of the ballasts just puked out it seems. Geez ive had some kinda luck with the whole headlight swap-aroo so far.

Well hopefully your luck turns around man, just know that they will eventually get all swapped out. Also make sure you have a 10mm wrench, cause the one headlight bolt is a pain and a socket won't fit.

it only takes 15 minutes or so to instal it... you should slap it in real quick, turn lights on, and compare the the two to eachother!

Definitely, first time I took the lights out, I couldn't locate my ratcheting wrench, spent 20 minutes messing with a crescent wrench

The bolts were the easiest for me, the hardest part of swapping headlights was removing that plastic bumper trim. Admittedly, I was working over a rock landscaping and being on my back on those rocks was not the most comfortable experience.

Ok so i just couldn't wait... I decided to install the headlight that I did have to test out fitment and performance of the projector vs stock halogen. Here is some of the initial results. Sorry but it is pic heavy but the all have captions. I am VERY pleased with the fittment. So much so, i would ALMOST say the fit better than OEM! The lines are definitely tighter, but you be the judge. Ill be doing a more detailed comparo on performance after i recieve the passenger side and get to run around at night. The seller did tell me today that they sent out both boxes together but held together by strapping so it looks like the strap broke somewhere along the way...

Here is a couple up close shots with it turned on using my 5k opt7 hid-

Im curious as to how you feel about projectors vs standard with the hids as far as light output. Im aware its the correct housing, just wonder what kind of difference you find.

well I haven't had a chance to actually go run these at night. I'm still waiting on my passenger side headlight housing to arrive before I go and put these through their paces. But from what I can tell with the brief time I had to try them against my garage door the output itself doesn't seem greatly brighter but obiously more clear as the projector focuses the actual beam where it needs to be. But as you can see in the pics the cutoff is very distinct where the HIDs in the standard reflector housing is very washed out. It's very easy to see why running HIDs in reflector housings are blinding to oncoming drivers. Hopefully I will have the passenger side headlight in soon and I can finish giving a full review on the performance. I will keep these for a brief period Of time with the projector housing that came with the headlights and then within a few weeks or maybe a couple of months I will be upgrading these to a full FX-R retrofit

Thank you so much for postiing this info dbcooper748. I have had my truck for 3 weeks and I can not stand the stock LT headlights.

Ive had mine about 3 months now and have wanted these since day one but just couldnt convince the wife to let me spend upwards of $1200 for a new oem set lol. But at $400ish, i thought it was worth a shot. Ive seen used oems go for $650-750 but most ive seen are either scratched up or missing tabs, etc. Im told if u can be patient sets do pop up from time to time cheaper but i am certainly not a patient one. Hopefully my other light will arrive soon so i can get this all wrapped up. Its killing me. So far tho, the one i do have is stellar on quality and fittment. I dare say it fits better than stock. The lines are tighter for sure. Even if performance is subpar (which i dont expect it to be based on my trials) then its still ok, because the FX-R retrofit i will be doing will outperform the oem by miles and that upgrade is only another $150, still coming in way under the cost of oem. Only time will tell how they hold up over the longterm

Wow, those are actually very nice! Wish I would have done more research before hand.. Oh well.. Still don't know if I want to pull the trigger on the fxr yet..

any chance you could do a night shot on the road to see how the compare to each other

Certainly. I put my stock reflectors back in until the passenger side arrives. When i do the full install i will post all my findings

Well my other light showed up today! And the fitment was just as good as the driver side. I am very pleased and suprised as to the quality and fitment. Performance-wise, they are acceptable. Nothing special there.

The cutoff with my hids is very sharp, but the output is abut the same as stock. Heres a few more pics. I didnt get a chance to do a vs with the oem halogen at night, as darkness was closing in fast. I will try and do that comparo when i do my fxr retrofit in a few weeks. All in all, i am very pleased with my purchase and would purchase again and would definently reccomend to anyone looking to save some $ on the oems. Check out the pics, and lemme know if you have any questions!
