Well my other light showed up today! And the fitment was just as good as the driver side. I am very pleased and suprised as to the quality and fitment. Performance-wise, they are acceptable. Nothing special there.

The cutoff with my hids is very sharp, but the output is abut the same as stock. Heres a few more pics. I didnt get a chance to do a vs with the oem halogen at night, as darkness was closing in fast. I will try and do that comparo when i do my fxr retrofit in a few weeks. All in all, i am very pleased with my purchase and would purchase again and would definently reccomend to anyone looking to save some $ on the oems. Check out the pics, and lemme know if you have any questions!

Glad to hear you like them. I think you convinced me to do the FX-R retrofit myself, just ordered the parts for that!

awesome! Trust me, it has taken a good bit of restraint for me not to order mine directly now that i got the headlight housings in place. I need to wait on a few more paychecks tho lol.

Where did u order your fxrs? And what hid kit are u gonna run? Morimoto d2s?

Well I tried to order them from Amazon, just found out they were on back order, so I canceled my order, and will be holding off for now.

The only thing kind of making me hold off on the fxr retro, is the fact that i just realized i will need larger dust caps to fit the new projectors. Ive found one place that sells them but they cost 80$ EACH! Yikes. The other alternative is to cut the entire back of them out and reseal with duct tape... not too crazy about that idea. Hmmmm

The larger caps have come down, they used to be $100-110. You still have to drill a hole in the larger caps to pass the HID wiring through. I'm going to have my retrofit done by a professional, I need to check with him to see how he deals with the shallow dust caps.

Im completely ok with drilling holes for the wiring as they can be grommetted and sealed with silicone. I just dont want a large gaping cutout. I am planning on going to home depot and looking into some possible solutions. Im thinking of possibly using pvc plumbing caps and plastic welding to the leftover part that still screws into the housing. If it is feasable i am going to move forward on the retrofit. Please do let me know what your installer says he plans to do!

What's that FX-R retrofit you speak of? Any install that on their truck?

I think i may have found a cheap solution to the dust cap problem. I took a quick trip to the home depot and this is what i found. 4" snap caps from the plumbing dept. The cost like $3 each and fit right over the back, and with a bead of silicone or construction adhesive it should seal up nicely

Looks like that would work pretty good, only concern is the fit when they are on the light because it's already pretty tight

I believe your concerns are well founded. I just went and did some measuring and it looks like its not gonna work. The only real place that the cap can be extended is on the "handle" portion. Im not giving up yet tho. Will make another trip to home depot soon and will focus my search on something thats plastic and rectangular shaped that would cover just the handle part.

Check out my pics in the HID thread. My buddy and I ended up using 1/8th inch ABS plastic to extend the caps.
