Any POF owners here?

I just ordered 2 new P308s. One is a 20" 308 with the 14.5 hand guard and the other is a 16" DI 308 with the 11.5 hand guard. The longer one will get sent out to be re-barreled in a 6.5CM. Also started another 4 month wait on a suppressor... ugh.

Post em up or any other high end gas guns.

I've been seriously looking at a 7.62/.308 gas gun. Can't decide on piston or direct impingement. Want to stay in the 8 1/2 lb or less range, 16-18" bbl, Hefted a Daniel Defense DD5V1 a couple days ago.

I would give Seekins Precision a hard look. Glen Seekins has awesome products. I have a custom built AR-15 built on his billet upper/lower and it is a 1/4 MOA gun if I do my part.

I was going the Seekins route until I ran into a stupid good deal on these 2 rifles. I paid 2000.00 off retail for the pair!

Personally if I were to purchase a new AR right now, my money would go towards a LWRC. Check out LWRC's R.E.P.R. line of rifles they are beyond top notch.

Love the POF rifle. Fired one that a friend owns. I would own one if I wasn't buying motorcycles.... too many expensive hobbies

Before dumping a load of cash on these POF-USA rifles that are actually considered 'hobby grade', they are not even close to being 'top end' rifles. Do some good research and shop around, rifles are not cheap.

There are much better quality rifles out there that actually come with a lifetime warranty, not just the 3 year limited that POF offers to their customers. For the money they want, a lifetime warranty should be standard IMO. Their guns are definitely expensive and they have targeted the 'it looks cool' crowd since day one. They build their rifles based on appearance, not function and reliability like they should. Never base your decision on purchasing a rifle based on what it looks like.

POF is in the Bushmaster quality and reliability area, not good. With other battle proven rifles on the market, there should be no excuse to drop that much money on one of these POF jobs.

If I were in the market for an accurate or precision semi-auto, I would highly consider a Knights Armament SR25, and the LMT MWS. Both are proven rifles that are extremely accurate and the quality doesn't get any better.

The SCAR-17 would also be another good choice for sure.

For those looking at LWRC, beware! They have issues that they are unable to rectify. Not exactly sure what is causing the trouble but the agency I work for had to send an entire order of 7.62's back to them. They jam, failed extraction and short stroking on some. I would definitely stay away from thise rifles.

If anyone does purchase POF, good luck with it, I hope it works out. There's nothing worse than a problematic rifle.

I have a Gen 3 20" for several years now. I bought it because I couldn't find a H&K MR762, Knights SR25, LMT MWS or SCAR17 at the time--plus I got a really, really good deal on the POF. I'm happy with it--have put 5000-5500 rounds through it so far and it has been 100% reliable.

Colt & LWRC have been top manufacturers since forever so once they figure things out, the LWRC brand will be right back toward the top of the piston gun ladder.

After reading your post earlier I did a little searching and it seems like between 2009 and 2012 LWRC was having some issues. But then after that I noticed a sharp drop in people complaining about them but the complaints I did see did seem to focus around the .308 platforms. Personally I am interested in one the LWRC IC SPR or Enhanced models.

Seems like the issues are taken care of with current production rifles seeing that time frame is a while back. I would not hesitate to purchase another.223/5.56 LWRC rifle or carbine. They have always been a solid platform but when it comes to the .308, they can't seem to get it right the first time.

I believe Colt made the LWRC purchase around March-April of last year (2014). Some, if not all LWRC individual carbine models should start showing up with the Colt rollmark in the near future. Luckily when they purchased the company, they got everything, not just the name.

The LWRC short stroke piston system works great and is a very reliable system. The last and only Colt piston carbine was the LE6940-P and it wasn't such a hot seller. These LWRC's should fly off the shelves once the roll mark gets switched over, the Colt fanboys will be picking them up like they're going out of style. A reliable 223/5.56 Colt piston gun, finally!

We've got a couple LWRC's at work. I'll check the markings on monday if we still have them. I almost bought a colt when walmart had a fire sale on AR's. But all thr models that were left had the fixed sights.

There is also nothing worse than someone bashing a brand name without any proof to speak of. I can deal fine with a personal opinion, but hey man lets try to have a little class or at least back up you claim with some evidence.

The last POF that my cousin and I had we racked up over 12K rounds out of it and beat the piss out of it. He sold it off to build his current bolt gun.

That being said I have gutted my rifle (20") the bcg, barrel, and piston system have been sold off. The upper is at my smith getting a new bartlein barrel in 6.5CM right now. I have a GAP-10 in 308 that is built on the same receiver set as POF. All the rifles that you mention cant hold a candle to the GAP-10. I have shot all of the weapon systems you mentioned and yes some are nice (Not the Scar). They just aren't precision guns IMO. I'm building this gun to strictly ring steel out to 1200. I have other small frame ARs that I use for other scenarios.
