2016 6.2L constraints

WAS TOLD BY MY DEALERSHIP THAT there not even allowed to order trucks with the 6.2 for inventory only special factory orders only

i'm just curious to see how long it will actually take i'm 10 weeks tomorrow

I WISH up front they had more info when placing a factory order i would of never sold my truck so fast

but i can't wait to get it

I ALSO WISH THESE 6.2L HAD SPECIAL BADGES ON THEM I THINK THAT WOULD BE COOL

I spoke with my Fleet rep today who delivered a Tahoe for my work today and they told me they only built 26 Chevy Silverados last month with 6.2L engine. GM needs to notify all its customers who have an order pending as a courtesy to let the customer know why it is taking so long to build the truck they purchased. The Tahoe I ordered only took 5 weeks to build and it was a Fleet order and they usually take 8 weeks. Figure it out GM, keep you customers happy!

I found out through my dealer today that they accidently ordered the truck through their general inventory instead of as sold. They will get a notification tomorrow stating the updated build date.

Well I talked to my salesman today. Said that the truck is scheduled to be built in mid April and I should have it mid May. Not too sure if I believe him. Anyone know of a way to double check?

Once GM "accepts" your order and provides a build date, you should be able to acqire the VIN number.

VIN is not released until the vehicle is built. All builds dates (TPW) are tentative and not a guarantee of a vehicle build. Its not unusual for production schedules to change and it happens quite often, build moved up or pushed back and sometimes not built at all.

You might want to try this forum for build status of US destined vehicles. A lady salesman (BeckyD) for a big Detroit area dealer is happy to provide the info to any GM customer (Canada she cannot see) ----> Camaro6

Well called the dealer yesterday and supposedly the truck is enroute to dealer. Should arrive by Monday. It's been 8 weeks to the day. I'll believe it when I see it.

11 weeks and still counting. Was told by dealer that the order was passed over (by production) several times due to its configuration. Area rep is now involved and pushing GM to get this thing built.

Well my dealer finally provided me with an update- the truck was built April 13th (Woo!). 6.2l All-terrain/All Terrain Plus, Sunroof, Crimson Red etc.. Being a truck with these options destined for Western Canada, I would have expected a longer wait. Towerhog there must be something messed up with your order.
