2016 6.2L constraints

Order a 2016 Sierra double cab slt with the 6.2L on 11/18/15. Dealer told me 12/11/15 that there was no tpw yet as there is a constraint on the engine. Anyone else having this problem or know what the constraint is and how long it will take?

Start searching the area for a truck already built close to your specs. I put an order in in later September, still no TPW as of a few weeks ago due to 62. constraint. Went searching and found a Sierra, which was a twin to the Silverado I had on order.

About 2 weeks ago I was told by a Chevy dealer who wouldn't budge on the price of a '15 6.2, it was because 6.2s were on constraint. I bought my '15 GMC with 6.2 with 20% off no problem. Could it be a Chevy thing? The trucks were nearly indentical.

Odd. I ordered my 6.2L Crew Cab, Standard Bed Denali 10/22, and I took delivery 11/25.

Anyone else out there buy a slt crew cab with the 6.2 and get it any quicker than a double cab? I'm just curious because it seems from searching some other dealers that they are getting in crews with the 6.2. Wondering if because gm sells more crews they get priority with the motor over a double cab. I really don't want to wait forever like I did with the truck I have now.

When comparing how fast you can get one, don't forget they are built in different places. Your location is a factor in which one will arrive first.

The donlen (they are a finance and corporate fleet management copy) update' is already 6 weeks old, so they production issues may have changed.

No, thats just a combination of dealer and salesman bs. Some places just don't deal, such as in my area. None of the dealerships will wheel and deal in my experience. But drive 50 miles and it changes.

I've looked around somewhat but nobody has any crew or double cab slt with crimson red, 6.2 and max trailering.

I know the crews are made in Mexico and double cabs in Indiana. Just seems from looking that more crews and Denalis with the 6.2 are on lots. Maybe it's just that more crews are ordered than double cabs with that configuration so it makes it seem like they are building more of them than double cabs.

How often does donlen get updated?

Crimson red is also on constraint so it may not be an engine issue but a color issue

I can't find a 6.2 in a standard bed at all. I did find one denali in black. I would prefer the steel grey. I was shopping hard for gmc till I saw both side by side and I don't like the black wheel well trim. I think I'll go silverado if I can find what I want already built. I dont really want to mess with ordering one.

You could be right. Unfortunately for me the darker red has always been my favorite color so I guess I'll just have to wait haha.

You could buy the body colored trim that gm has afterwards. For me I'm partial to the gmc look over the Chevy.
