Choosing between Tundra and Silverado/Sierra

So because of this thread I believe I have made my choice. I am going with either the Sierra AT or the SilveradoLTZ Z-71. You guys have all convinced me I think the topper was that the Toyota is a 2007 truck at 2016 prices and very small price breaks from the dealers. I wanted to go with GM from the beginning but was unsure. I won't be getting a new truck for awhile but thank you for helping me think through it.

Glad to see you have made a decision. Often times folks post these "help me decide" threads, but they never take the time to let everyone know what they decided. Thanks for letting us know and glad we could help.

BTW....I think you made the right choice.

I second that you let us know your decision and you made the right one IMO.

I'd have to say if I bought one today I am leaning towards the Silverado. Thanks for the feedback

Just be sure to test drive the truck you choose. Get it out on the hwy so you can run 75 to 85 and make sure it has no vibration. Drive it as much as you can.

Just pulled the trigger. 2016 Silverado Midnight edition. Went with the GM. The Toyota isn't in the same league.... I wanted it to be... It just doesn't have what the Chevy does for the same amount of money.

Great decision although I don't have a 2016 I'm a brand man myself,I'll pay more for GM and Dodge and deal with the issues before I pull trigger on a Toyota,Honda and so on.If a owner of a Toyota, asked my 2 cents I'll hurt their feelings on what I think but I won't give my 2 cents if I'm not asked.

This may be isolated, my brother in law had a very nice Tundra, the only problem he had was rats eating the wires under the intake manifold. He took the truck in when lights in the dash came on, the tecks knew right away the problem and the reason. Seems the wires insulation is soy base and the rats love it. Two visits in two wks and 700$ each time he traded for a Ram my third choice. So if you live in the country you might check that out. No, I'm not kidding this is what the tecks said at the dealer, soy base coatings and a common problem.

The Tundra is such an antiquated uncomfortable gutless sack it's not even funny. I own both in question (2015 Silverado and 2015 Tundra) and I hate the Tundra the more I drive it. The 5.7 might have been cool 10 years ago when it came out but now... no. If I could trade it in or just sell it and not be offered nothing for it I would... I wanted a 2.7 ecoboost F150 ( which power wise would hand the ass to this Toyota) but Ferd thinks their trucks are made of gold since the body change... So instead I will drive it into the ground.

When I wrote my first response I hadn't driven the truck in about 8 months... for the last 3 months the Tundra is my work daily... and yeah... it's a turd. You can completely kill all traction and stability garbage on a Yota though which is nice. You press and hold the button the dash until everything lights up normally... release and press and hold again all while not moving. On mine the dic will permanently display traction control off and now it has as much as an 80's truck lol. It does awesome 2 tire burnouts even with an open diff... the brake limited slip works well lol. Before I found this out driving on soft gravel at 40 mph would engage the stability control and just basically shut the truck off... not anymore.
