I was wondering what suggestions you guys have as I used to have a much larger set of tools I carried with me in my car, but with a regular cab truck its almost impossible. I am trying to avoid getting a truck box

Feels like you either gotta go locking tonneau or locking bed tool box if you have a kit of any size? Do you need more than a soft sided tool bag?

Saw this as a larger, bulletproof version of the plastic swing away case that I use for cheaper basics under a locking tonneau lid.

I put together a moderate sized kit (enough for helping with belts, coolant lines, etc.) in a Craftsman tool bag and then bungeed it under the hood on the unused battery tray on the driver's side.

You can probably have enough room behind the seats for a tire iron, jack, socket set, and a small box for pliers, screwdrivers, tape, ties, etc....

Harbor Freight Store - Their tool kit which fits under or back of my passenger seat pushed fully back. Right size and out of the way. No noise or clicking while truck moving. Nice container and organized. It has a lot and usually goes on sale/with coupons etc.. I got mine for about $23 on a special sale. Just what I need while away from the house and for some emergency needs on the road.

Get yourself a nice plastic latchable box that fits in the spare battery box area out under the hood.
